I woke up to the sound of people singing Happy birthday. I opened my eyes to see 18 little candles. The lights in the room were off so everything was dark. I took a deep breath and blew out the candles.

The lights then turned on, to reveal everyone standing around my bed. There in front of me stood my mom with a cake in her hands, while my dad stood next to her.

All of a sudden I felt someone jump on top of me. "I can't believe you're eighteen already" Steph said as she hugged me.

"Steph" I said patting her back "I need to breath"

"Right. Sorry" she said as she released me. I heared some chuckles as she did this.

"Are you just gonna sit there or give me hug?" Matthew suddenly said.

I stood up from the bed and hugged him. "Happy birthday Brook"

"Hey don't forget about your us. You know the ones that raised you and have you a place to stay" I heared Mom say. I pulled back from the hug with Matthew and went to go hug my parents.

Once I had hugged everyone and they told me Happy birthday Mom showed me that cake that Mary had made for me. It was an Oreo ice cream cake with my name on it made out of cookie crumbs. "I love it" I said as I looked at it.

"I'm glad" Mary replied.

I felt someone wrap their arms around me and kiss me on the cheek. "Happy birthday my little air bender" Ethan whispered in my ear. Goosebumps quickly covered my body as he said this.

I then remembered about last night, when Matthew called Ethan back to his office. I released my self from Ethans grip and punched Matthew hard in his shoulder.

"Oww what was that for?"

"For having Ethan still go and help you with stuff after he had a long day" I replied. Everyone let out a small laugh.

"Well I'm gonna go put this in the freezer before it finishes melting" Mom said, excusing her self.

"I'll go with you" Dad said as he went after Mom.

"Well I think we should leave these two alone for now, you know since it's Brooklyn's birthday and Ethan might wanna give her her gift already" AJ said as he winked at Ethan "If you know what I mean"

Steph asked him on his chest. "AJ"

"What?"

Steph rolled her eyes and apologized for what he had said. "Anyway we'll let the two of you finish getting dressed. We're going to be downstairs waiting for you two" Steph said.

Everyone walked towards the door in a bee line. AJ was about to shut the door but not before saying "take your time, but don't break anything"

I rolled my eyes as Ethan just chuckled. Our eyes meet as we just smiled at eachother.

"Come on we need to get ready" I said throwing a pillow at him.

He caught it mid air and smirked at me. "So that's how you wanna play" Before I knew it a pillow was thrown at me, hard, and made me stumble back.

"Ohh it's on"

Ethan and I walked downstairs to the kitchen to see that no one was there. "Maybe their in the tv room" I suggested.

He nodded. We made our way towards the 'tv room' when we heared laughter. We both looked at eachother with confused faces, not knowing were the laughter was coming from.
