"Eat this Anna!"
Valentina hit her infamous curve ball.
"Hey!You know I hate these!" Anna wailed as she sprinted.
WHAM
Anna barely hit the ball and it made it just over the net.
"Nooooooo!" Valentina missed it, and the ball hated her enough to land on her head.
"Ouch!"
Anna doubled up laughing.
"Meanie!" Valentina looked over to see Matthew coming over.
"May I join you ladies?"
"Aww~!So polite!"Anna doubled up laughing again.
"Hey. I tried." Matthew shrugged and turned to Valentina, still rubbing her head.
"Can I talk to you?"
"Uhhh....Oh no!Anna, I feel I need to work on serves with you!Don't want Coach V to get mad!" Valentina rose to her feet, as if she hadn't had been hit with a ball just before.
"Wait...When did you ever care about Coach?"Matthew asked.
"Um...SINCE TODAY."
Remember Valentina. No talking to Matthew. If he talks, change the subject.Nikki had told her multiple times before. Now she could recite it by heart.
She ran back to her position and volleyed back with Anna.
When she was done, and taking a water break, He ran towards her.
" Please just listen to me,"He pleaded.
"Uh...Oh!Anna!Could we go again? I feel active today!Ah ha ha ha....."
She looked at him, half expecting him to get mad.
Instead, he sat on the bench next to her and said,"I'll wait."
Anna looked at her,confused.
"Ok. Well, I'm always ready so...."
By the time they finished Rallying, Valentina was flat out exhausted and couldn't bare to play anymore.
"Now can we talk?"
Ugh. He's still here.
Valentina headed for her water bottle.
"I just need to talk for a moment.Just bare with me.Please Valentina."He begged.
"I'll listen...Just that I'm going to ignore you."
"Ok. Well..."He hesitated.
He took out a box, well adorned with gold patterns against the pitch black box.
"Um..."
"Well,I just wanted to say...I love you Valentina."
She gasped, too speechless to say anything.
"I realized by talking to a friend that I love you.So please...Go out with me."
He held the box towards her and opened it.
"..."
"The n-necklace."
She couldn't say anymore, for when the light shined down on the crystal, it sprakled like the clear blue cypress.
"Yeah...I bought it for you...."
"U-um...What about that girl over there?"Her question tumbled out of her mouth before she could stop it.
