My smile faded as soon as the words left her mouth. Scout— the girl who broke Andy's heart, Andy's first love, the one I thought I never could compare to. I bit down on my lip and gave a weak smile.
"Where did you come from?" I asked.
"Ohio. Just transferred in!" Scout said.
"What are you majoring in?"
"Acting. I've always loved it." She said with a cheeky smile. I nodded my head before telling her I didn't want to hold her from unpacking. Scout smiled and turned back around, sliding her headphones in again.
She rummaged through her suitcase and started to put away her clothes. I backed up and pressed my back against the door again, my heart racing. Quickly, I shot Andy a text.
Please get here as soon as you can.
I folded my arms across my chest and just watched her. I was boiling with rage at this point. The thought of her being in the same room as Andy and I pissed me off beyond all levels. What if Andy saw her and fell in love all over again? What if he left me?
I nearly jumped out of my skin as Andy appeared right in front of me. He was dressed in his long sleeved shirt and dark pants to match. He still had his baseball cap on with the name of his work etched into it. His blue eyes locked with mine as he grabbed me by my arms, pulling me in close. "Snow— are you okay? What happened? Is something wrong?"
I pulled back from him and folded my arms across my chest again. Arching a brow, I shot him a glare as I snapped, "How about you turn around and you can tell me if I'm okay or not."
Andy furrowed his brows. "I don't und—"
Andy fell silent the minute he turned around. I looked past him and saw Scout had turned around as well, and both eyes locked together. Their mouthes hung open as they stared at one another, and I felt my nails start to dig into my skin as I watched them.
"Andy?" She breathed out.
Andy swallowed hard. "Scout."
"Snow." I said as I raised my hand, giving a cheeky smile. Andy glanced over his shoulder at me and quickly stepped beside me, sliding his arm around my waist. His eyes flicked up to meet Scout's again.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"This is my room." Andy growled, his face showing full anger. I bit my lip and didn't say a word as Scout looked at him in shock. She seemed to be at a loss of words now.
"They— they told me this was open."
"He rooms with me." I told her.
"Yeah. I room with my girlfriend." Andy said, emphasizing the word girlfriend. Instantly, her eyes widened even more and she let a soft Oh. escape from her lips. Andy nodded his head slowly and looked at me.
"I'm— so sorry." She stammered.
Quickly, she started to gather up her things. She shoved them into her bag and zipped it up. She glanced at the posters and back at me, and gave a sheepish smile. "You can keep those. I know Andy likes them."
"Surprised you remember anything good about me, considering you only thought of the bad when you left me." Andy snapped, his voice full of anger. Scout said nothing.
She grabbed her bag and hurried past us, her eyes on the floor. We turned and watched her open the door, and with a final glance over her shoulder, she shut the door behind her.
I glanced at Andy who still held anger in his face, fists clenched and eyes burning red. Quickly I grabbed him by the shoulders and told him to look at me. "Calm down."
He growled. "I can't."
"She's gone." I reassured him.
"Yeah, but she's still here." Andy huffed out, glancing back at the door. I grabbed his hands and wrapped them around mine as I told him to calm down again. I pulled him over towards the beds and away from the door.
"Look at me— Andy." His anger was getting the best of him, and his hands were starting to squeeze a bit too tightly on mine. I shook his hands violently, telling him to look at me again. Andy glanced at me but turned back to look at the door.
"I don't want her here." Andy breathed.
"Andy I know— please calm down."
Andy held onto my hands tightly, and pain started to shoot up my arms. I was about to ask him to let go when I had to drop to the floor, nearly missing the fist that he drove right at me. I heard it collide with the wall as I dropped to the ground, putting my shaking hands in front of my face.
His heavy breathing sounded in the silent room and I slowly turned my head up. A large chunk of the solid brick wall was now gone as he slowly removed his fist, his hands trembling. Andy looked down at his fist and then at me.
I felt my heart beat out of my chest. Slowly, I stood up and looked over at the wall. Quickly Andy pulled me into a hug, burying his face in my hair as he repeatedly whispered, "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry."
Andy's body was still as mine was still shaking, fear coursing through my veins. If I hadn't of ducked, he would've hit me. I knew he would never mean to, however it still shook me up.
"I'm so sorry." Andy breathed out again.
I swallowed hard. "It's fine."
I slowly removed myself from his grip, putting my arms across my chest as I held myself. I took in slow breaths with my eyes to the floor and my heart still beating hard. The swift movement of a fist always made me jump after everything that had happened with Jake.
"Snow please look at me." Andy whispered gently, his voice soft with worry laced in it. Taking a hard swallow, I slowly tilted my head up to meet gaze with him and his eyes held tears that sat at the edge. They were still, on the verge of falling on to his pale, delicate cheeks. Andy bit his lip nervously, pulling at the silver metal ring. "I'm so sorry, Snow."
"It's fine." I repeated, a bit harsh.
"No it's not." Andy licked his quivering lips, taking in a deep breath. I nodded my head and slid my arms around him to pull him in close. Andy squeezed me tight and buried his face in my hair, placing soft kisses along my head.
He held me there for a few more moments, his arms holding onto me as if I was the only thing to hold before he fell. They were locked right around my waist showing no signs of releasing.
"I'm sorry." Andy muttered again. Andy finally pulled away to look at me, his crystal blue eyes staring deep into mine. "I just— seeing her brought back so much and— I lost my temper."
I arched a brow. "You think?"
I turned my head to look at the damage in the wall and back at him. Andy frowned and bit his lip nervously. "I almost hit you and I feel awful. I swear I thought I had myself in control."
"You do. It's just a slip up."
"Yeah— a slip up in my world could cost you your damn life." Andy muttered angrily, his eyes falling to the floor. I slid my finger under his chin and tilted it back up so his gaze met mine.
"It's not your fault." I assured him.
"Why is she even here?" Andy asked, his voice filling with anger again. I told him to keep his cool and not get himself worked up. With a sharp breath, he nodded his head. "I don't know why of all schools she had to choose this one."
"Neither do I. But I know that if she comes near you, I'll slit her throat." I cooed gently, pecking his lips with mine. That made him chuckle a bit and arch his brow. "Oh really? With what claws, babe?"
"You have claws. I have a knife." I smirked.
