"So he's still shifted?" Damien asked, his voice barely above a whisper. I nodded my head silently, scribbling down notes as the professor spoke. I looked over at him who now had his mouth wide open in shock. "That's not normal."
"Well obviously." I rolled my eyes, chuckling.
"But— why? I mean what happened?" I shrugged my shoulders, telling him he had no idea. When we woke up this morning he was still shifted, something that even he said has never happened before.
Andy was a mess this morning. He was so scrambled and freaking out, and I felt so bad as I watched him frantically paced back and forth. I had no proof, but I had a gut feeling this has something to do with either Jason or Scout.
"Hey it's okay. I'll take notes for you in class. Just stay here and rest." I told him, resting my hands on his shoulders. Andy looked at me with doubt in his eyes, and I could tell he was on the verge of an entire breakdown. "It's going to be okay."
"But what's going—"
"I don't know but it doesn't matter. Just get some rest today for me. Please?" I added lightly, offering a small smile. Andy didn't seem very confident in my calmness, but honestly I just didn't want him to freak out. I had no clue what was going on but him being stressed was never good.
"Does he have any idea—?"
"Damien, I've literally given you every piece of information I have. He has no idea what's going on or why. Neither do I." I said, a hint of anger in my voice. I soon apologized for the attitude, explaining it wasn't directed towards him.
"I know you're not mad with me, and I'm sorry for asking questions. I'm just trying to wrap my head around this as much as you are." Damien said softly, his eyes studying me. I let out a shaken breath as I leaned back in my chair, the sound of the professors voice drowning out.
There was no doubt in my mind that one of the two pests had something to do with this, but my question was why? What was the end game of this? I felt so useless right now because there was nothing I could do to fix any of this, and seeing Andy so upset crushed me. But what was there to do?
"Come on." Damien pulled me from my thoughts.
I blinked. "Huh?"
"Let's go see Andy."
"I— We're in class." I hissed.
Damien smirked. "But it's about to end."
I glanced at the clock and furrowed my brows seeing we had another hour and a half left. I turned back to him to protest until the professor cleared his throat, making the entire class turn. "Alright class that's the end for today. The only homework is to finish your projects by next week! Due date is Monday."
Everyone's chairs screeched against the floor as they pushed back from their desks. The room was full of murmurs as they all picked up their things before heading to the door. I looked back at Damien who had a smug smile on his face. "Damien."
"What?"
"Stop that." I groaned.
"What? The professor was done!" His voice was laced with sarcasm, clearly trying to hold back a laugh. I rolled my eyes and stood up, shoving my things into my bag before heading out the door.
"Come on, don't be mad. We need to see Andy."
"Stop mind tricking people." I hissed.
"This is an emergency!" He protested in his defense, heading down the halls with me. I let out a huff, my brain rattling with what to say before I paused. I felt this heavy weight on my chest and I slowed my pace as I held my hand over my chest.
