Ashley sat in utter silence, both as I spoke and after I had finished. His brown eyes looked at me in shock and disbelief, his facial features sharp with anger. His eyes had flickered from red to brown but finally settled to their natural state, however his rage was still visible.

I fell silent soon after I ended the story, waiting for him to respond. He still said nothing, his eyes holding the same gaze. I fiddled around with my fingers to make what seemed to be an endless amount of time go by until finally he opened his mouth to speak.

"I don't know who I should kill first." He finally said, his voice completely calm. "Him? Or her?"

"Ashley." I whined.

"No— he's my best friend but what he's pulling is complete bullshit!" Ashley snapped, standing up from the bed. He paced back and forth around the room, rambling to himself out loud in frustration.

"Or maybe I over reacted." I suggested.

Ashley shot me a look. "No."

"Come on. I guess they can be—"

"Don't even think of saying friends." Ashley snapped at me, pointing a finger at me. I shut my mouth immediately and stared at him as he continued to pace. "She was horrible to him. She made him miserable."

I sighed. "I don't know what to do."

"Um— bring it up to him!" Ashley yelled. He let out an angry sigh, pressing his fingers to his temples. Someone knocked on the door and he rolled his eyes before opening. "What?"

"Your girl is here." CC said.

"Tell her to leave." Ashley snapped.

He arched a brow. "Wait— what?"

"Scout— Andy— tell her to go." Ashley said. Immediately CC rushed down stairs, and Ashley held up three fingers. He counted quietly before we heard a door slam and footsteps running up the stairs. Within those three seconds, all of the boys were in Ashley's room sitting beside me.

"What happened?" Jinxx asked.

"Glad we kept this a secret." I huffed, rolling my eyes at Ashley. CC gave me a light nudge telling me to hush up. "Nothing is a secret if that bitch is involved."

I sat back and folded my arms across my chest, arching a brow at Ashley. He took in a deep breath and reexplained the entire story I just laid on him. All of the boys stared intently at him, listening closely as he spoke.

All of their facial expressions were quite similar with a mix of anger and confusion all locked into one. They exchanged glances between one another, and started an outburst of swearing and arguing. I rested my elbows on my knees and sighed, listening to all of them yell.

My phone vibrated in my pocket and quickly I sat up, grabbing my phone. I looked and immediately stood up. "Shut up! It's Andy!"

Immediately they all sat down and fell silent, their eyes glued to me. I let it ring once— twice— three times. Finally, I answered. "Hello?"

"Where are you?" Andy asked, his voice full of worry. There was a muffled noise of the crowd in the background, indicating he was still out and about with his parents. Or, at least I hoped he was. "You just— left?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry." I said quickly.

"Are you mad at me?" He asked.

"Uh— no, not at all."

"You seemed mad when I tried holding you at the table. What's going on?" He asked me, his voice full of worry. I let out a sigh and reassured him I wasn't mad, lying straight through my teeth. Ashley snapped his fingers at me an snatched my phone.

He hit mute. "Ask him where he was when you left that one day." The boys all nodded their heads, eyeing me carefully. I grabbed my phone back and shot Ashley a look before unmuting the call. "Hey Andy— the other day when I left with Damien, where'd you go?"

There was a pause. "Why?"

I looked at Ashley for help. Quickly they all looked at one another, whispering very softly. Finally, I heard Ashley's voice slide into my head and say, You thought you saw him with someone from class. Keep it casual.

"I thought I saw you with some kid from class. Thought maybe you were broadening your horizon a bit." I laughed lightly. Andy let out a low sigh followed by a chuckle.

"No, I went to the dorms and took a shower. Then I looked for you." He said. My heart had plummeted— he was lying through his teeth.

"Where are you?" He asked again.

"I'm— out with Alex." I said quickly.

"Oh, when will you be back?"

"Why?" I questioned.

"I miss you." Andy laughed. I kept it calm, telling him I'd come back probably later before hanging up the phone. I tossed my phone onto the bed and let out a long groan.

"He's lying." I said. "I can tell."

"I don't understand why he would even be near Scout. He hates her." CC said, running his fingers through his hair. I sat down again beside him as I muttered, "Clearly not."

"How was he when he first saw her?"

"He was furious! He made her leave the room and was so tense!" I cried out angrily, now running my fingers through my hair as I shook my head. I bit down on my lip hard.

"I'm not about to deal with Andy going through that shit again." Ashley said, throwing his arms in the air. The boys all nodded their heads in agreement. I let out a sigh and stood up.

"I think I should go talk to him."

"Do you want me to come with?" Ashley asked as he studied me carefully, his brown eyes full of concern. I shook my head. "No, I should do this alone. We'll see what's really going on."

I rode the train back to the dorms, listening to it screech to a stop. I stood up amongst the crowd of people crammed in the small car and shuffled down the line. Stepping onto the platform, I hurriedly walked down the large stairs onto the streets of the city.

There was a group of young girls, one who I recognized from my math class, heading the same direction. I followed close behind, keeping my eyes peeled in case someone came too close to me. It was Chicago— you always had to be cautious.

Along with the sexual predators and drug addicts, we now had another beast on our hands, and sadly I was aware. So now my nerves were tripled and my anxiety was through the roof, making it seem like the short walk took hours. I felt relief as I stepped onto the campus and watched the gates close behind me.

Quickly, I walked the long sidewalk to the dorm building. I fumbled with my keys and slid it into the lock. With a soft click, I swung the door open and headed up the stairs. My heart was racing at this point.

What was I supposed to say to him? Was I supposed to outright accuse him? If I asked him for the truth I wasn't even sure if he'd tell it considering he's been lying.

I practically ran down the hallway before coming to a halt at the door. I took in a deep breath, my heart beating out of my chest. Slowly, I reached out to press my room key to the sensor when two cold hands grabbed my shoulders.

I was about to scream when a hand clamped over me, and I heard him whisper, "Shh, easy there Snow." I spun around and saw his brown eyes with a smirk on his face. "I had to come."

"How did you get here?" I hissed.

Ashley shrugged. "I'm fast."

I rolled my eyes. "Get out of here."

"No can do. This is my friend too." He said as he folded his arms over his chest. I gave him a look and he stood still, the smirk still on his face. I rolled my eyes and finally gave up. Turning back to the door, I took a deep breath in and unlocked it.

I swung open the door and saw a shadow made out by the glow coming in through the window. It was dead silent as Ashley and I slowly crept in, shutting the door quietly. I reached along the wall and flicked on the lights, and that's when my heart completely shattered.
