The little bell chimes as I walked inside. The place was packed— people were everywhere. I weaved my way towards the front table and looked for Andy. "Snow?"
I spun around and found a tall, blonde man. He held a rag over his shoulder and stared at me with red eyes. I remembered him from the first time I ever came here. "Oh, hey Kris."
He gave a smile. "What are you—?"
"Is Andy here?" I asked quickly.
"He's outside." Kris replied, letting out a sigh. By the looks of it, I think even Kris knew what was up with him recently. I let out a long sigh and nodded my thanks, pushing past him to the door.
Before going out, Kris grabbed hold of my shoulder. I spun around and arched a brow up at him, giving him a look. "I— I'm sorry for what happened between you two."
I arched a brow. "He told you?"
Kris shook his head. "I read his mind. But I didn't even need to considering you could see it all over his face." Kris said, rocking on his heels a bit. He glanced down at the floor, scratching the back of his neck. "We're all worried about him. The new bus boys are taking it like a joke."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"They'll egg him on, pick fights with him. They don't care, and apparently neither does he. He comes in and drinks, and the night always ends in a damn fight." Kris said angrily, rolling his eyes. He looked at me, a frown plastered to his face as he sighed once more. "He's just not happy anymore. He's changed."
"He's always growling at everyone, never really talks to any of us anymore." Kris said, folding his arms over his chest. He swallowed hard as he looked around. "We used to be close, but now he won't even look at me."
"Well, I came back to— to at least make sure he's okay." I told him, biting my lip nervously as I looked around. I took a deep breath and let out a sigh. "He's outside?"
Kris nodded. "Good luck."
I mumbled a thanks and headed out the door. Getting onto the side walk, I glanced around and went over to the one side. Rounding the corner, I found a dark alleyway only lit by the yellow glow of the light hanging on the brick wall. In the faint glow, I could see three men standing around something on the floor.
That something turned out to be Andy as I grew closer. He stood up, brushing himself off as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. His eyes were a bright red, and I could already tell his fangs were bared.
He grabbed one of them and threw them into the wall, earning a scream. Andy swung at the other two however missed, and they each grabbed him and dragged him back down to the ground.
I covered my mouth in shock as I watched them all drive their feet into his ribs. One of them got down and started to swing at Andy, his fists colliding hard with his jaw. Why wasn't he fighting back?
"Pathetic— useless— faggot." One of them said in between punches. They all laughed as they taunted him, and he didn't even say a word back. He looked so weak. "You let a pathetic human ruin your life. You're nothing but a weak little bitch."
"Ruined your life before, and ruined your life again. How stupid can you be?" One of them asked, stomping hard on his ribs. Andy let out a cry of pain and that's when I couldn't handle it anymore. Looking on the ground, I found an empty beer bottle by my foot.
I grabbed it and chucked it hard, hearing the glass break against one of their heads. They all stopped and looked at me, their eyes red with fury. Even Andy looked over at me, and all of his anger shifted into worry as he stared at me.
"Little bitch!" The man shouted before charging at me. It wasn't even a second before I had a cold hand around my neck pressing me against the wall. I gulped— I didn't think this through very well now did I?
He raised a hand in the hair, his claws out and ready to slash. Quickly, I drove my knee up and hit him hard in his crotch, causing him to let go of me. I scrambled to my feet but was now thrown down on the hard ground by the two others. They all let out a roar as they hovered over me, their eyes on my neck.
"Stop playing, lets drain her!" One growled.
"No!" I screamed out, but I heard someone else scream with me. Within seconds, they were launched off of me, and I had one person standing over me. He let out a loud roar and got into a defensive crotch, a snarl escaping his lips. You could tell the amount of pain he was in as he stood over me, but his anger was completely taking control.
"Leave— her— alone." Andy growled.
"Oh look at that, the bitch speaks." One of them laughed. He charged at Andy, reaching out to grab him. However, Andy grabbed him first and threw him into the side wall. He looked at the other two and let out a roar I had never heard before, scaring all of us.
"Leave— now." He growled.
Without another word, the two took off to the streets and the boy on the floor scrambled to his feet. He ran out after them, leaving us alone in the alleyway. With that, Andy fell to his knees and let his body slump onto the floor. He was covered in blood, both from his own injuries and I'm assuming the others.
I got to my feet and knelt down beside him, brushing my hand against his side. He let out a cry of pain and growled angrily. Andy looked at me but said nothing. He held a look of disgust as he looked at me, something that truly killed me inside. Slowly, I watched his eyelids close and his head rolled to the side. I swallowed hard. I had to help.
I slowly pulled him up into a sitting position, throwing his arm over my shoulder. Andy's eyes opened up and he looked at me as I heaved him to his feet. I struggled to hold him up however managed to get a good grip on him before heading to my car.
"What— are you— doing?" He breathed out.
"Helping you." I muttered.
"W— Why— would you?"
I looked at him. "Because I care, Andy."
