Chapter 2: OVERLAND HIGH SCHOOL MYSTERIES

After the strange ordeal with the girl with the frizzy hair, callan soon joined Troy at the cafeteria where the talk was all about basketball. Callan had decide to go and try out for the team during recess on the following day after all, Troy was the captain so it was pretty evident that his soon to be best friend(as we shall see later in the book) was to join the team.The rest of day went on well that callan almost(,,,,,,,ALMOST) forgot about the weird girl. Soon the day came and it was recess,,,,,time to try out for the team.

Callan as directed by the boys went to coach and as expected coach ignored him saying there were no vacancies for new players. It took the pleading of Troy and his teammates for coach to finally agree to let Callan try. Lucinda could not hide her joy when she heard the news about callan trying for the team(as if there was anything between them).The whole school in minutes was all in the basketball pitch to see the mayor's try out for the team. Lucinda and her team were already doing crazy choreographies to hype the crowd and soon the trials started.

Against a whole team of seven players, Callan defeated them 21scores to 5,Never in all his life had the coach seen such a talented player it was simply amazing. Callan was now the talk of school everbody congratulating him. After all the pomp, Lucinda asked callan if he would like a glass of water and of all the people that afternoon Lucinda was the only one who had understood what Callan really needed.

He continued playing because at the back of his head he knew with all the praises of him been an outstanding playing, he remembered the hard practice he had gone through all his lifetime and he was not about to stop.

"You know for a mayor's son you are quite outstanding,,,,to be so hardworking and humble", Callan looked around and saw a shadow that immediately lead him to recognizing the frizzy hair. "its you again,,,,,I feel like you are stalking me", replied Callan."I wish I was", said the girl who was sitting at the first bench .Then out of nowhere someone walked in "Here you go,,,,,",said Lucinda handing over the water." thank you Lucinda,I appreciate". "anything for you,,,,,,byeee see you tomorrow", said Lucinda walking away.

After she was gone, "how comes she didn't notice you?", asked callan looking at the girl who was smiling as she bounced the ball on and off."My name is Zynn, and she cant see me coz no one ever sees me,,,,,,by the way you are really good in basketball but not that good against me", zynn replied smiling. "is that a challenge from a girl against me in basketball?"."Yea why never been challenged by a girl before?"

"Okay then lets do it",said Callan feeling challenged."I would if it wont make you look weird if someone found us playing,,," returning the ball to Callan."Am still surprised how people cant see you,,,,,,,who are you,,,,,,,"asked Callan.

Walking around Zynn replied "You know,,,,,, am here because am asking the same question", looking at Callan "normal human beings cannot see me unless they see my shadow,,,,,,,,so who or what are you,,,,,anyway that doesn't matter am here to give you some piece of advice,,,,,,,,,stop wasting your time trying to make people look me,,,,,,,,byeeee" Zynn replied with a lot of clarity in her tone and walked headed towards the pitch exit .

"Wait before you go,,,,, tell me why you would give me such advice,,,,,is there any harm that will come to you if I tell people about you?",asked Callan.Zynn stopped and smiled before turning to callan and replied "No actually if anyone is going to be harmed,,,,,,,,,", smiling "it simply would be you", and walked off.

Immediately Troy came in "finally bro,,,, been looking for you everywhere,,,", stopped and noticed Callan's troubled face "What's wrong man did you see a ghost or something?".Callan turned to Troy "bro I know this is going too sound weird but I need to ask you something because you are the closest to me in this school,,,okay?"Troy looking surprised "yea man whatever,,just ask", "Remember its going to sound weird but it just a question,,,,,,,,,in this school has there ever been a myth or an history or an incident about,,,,,, you know,,,,an invisible creature or ,,,,,,something like that?",Troy replied "So you already heard the rumors?,,,,,,yes there has been a story of an invisible girl with frizzly hair,,," .Callan entirely shocked" Has anyone ever seen her or,,,,,,,talked to her?"Troy still with the idea of his friend been a lunatic just answered "yes but we really dont believe it because the two people who have claimed to see her,,, are the two people you would trust the least. Now fully focused on Troy, Callan shocked asked "who,,,,,are they?",Troy simply answered(what else could he do with this new friend and his weird questions)"Miss Wattle and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Lucinda", Callan almost fell when he heard the answer.
