"Soo, why is Liam walking you home when you wanted to go out with Harry and the girls?", Zayn jumper at the loud voice of his mother.
He turned around to see her stand there with her arms crossed and a big knowing smirk on her face.
"Hey mom, nice to see you too, how are you? I am fine thanks for asking.", Zayn said sarcastically while sitting down on the stairs to take off his shoes.
"Don't try to change the topic smartass, why was Liam walking you home? I thought you'd come here with Harry."
"He wasn't walking me home, we met at the mall, where I was with Harry, Cara and Kendall and now we where just taking the bus back home and walked here from the bus station."
"Hmm and you met him their?"
"Yes, he was their with Louis and their friends and then we wanted to get some froyo with Cara and Kendall but then we kind of lost them because there were many people and stuff so Liam and I went to get froyo alone and after that he asked me if I wanted to see a movie, so we went to the cinema and then we came home and yeah.", Zayn rambled while looking at his mom, who's smile was growing with each word that left her sons lips.
"Oh my god. That was a date. You had a date!", she squealed while jumping up a bit.
Sometimes Zayn wondered if his mom was really mid forty or still a teenage girl.
"Who had a date? Zayn? Why didn't I know that? With who?", Zayn's father, who had just walked out of his home office and was now standing next to his still jumping wife, asked.
"It wasn't a date, dad. We just had some froyo and then went to see a movie together. As friends. We're just friends.", Zayn said while looking at his sock covered feet.
"Hmm and who's the boy?", his dad asked with one eyebrow raised, but still smiling, secretly happy that his son was being happy.
"Liam Payne!", Tricia explained happily.
"Karen and Geoff's son Liam Payne?"
"No, the kid of the dentist Liam Payne.", Tricia said sarcastically while rolling her eyes. Zayn chuckled at that, knowing that he got his sarcasm (and sass) from his momma.
"Of course it's the neighbors kid"
"Oh, he's a nice guy. I like him. He is captain of your schools football team, isn't he?"
Zayn just nodded at that, biting his lip.
"Is that why you're attending every game?", Yaaser asked with a smug smile.
"What? No, dad! Liam and I are just friends. And I attend the games because Louis, Harry's boyfriend, Liam's best friend, is in the team too and I'm friends with some of the other players too. And for school spirit of course."
"Yeah sure, whatever you say.", Yaaser chuckled and started to walk into the kitchen, but he got stopped by his wife grabbing his arm.
"Wait, Harry is dating Liam's best friend?"
"Yeah, Louis. He told you that. And I did too. Just a few seconds ago. You remember?", Zayn said, growing annoyed of his mom. And his dad.
"Don't smartass me, young man. But what I'm trying to say is, that if you and Liam would start dating, you two and Harry and Louis could go an a super cute double date."
"That's what Harry said too.", Zayn said, rolling his eyes and standing up from where he was sitting on the stairs.
"So Harry thinks you two should date too? I think I might have to have a talk with him. Invite him over this week, would you?"
"Yeah sure, I'll ask him. Can I go to my room now?", Zayn asked but already started walking up the stairs.
