Soooo I've noticed something that may be obvious but maybe not so obvious. I have seen tantrums thrown by the young and old, by both females and males. I've seen even the seemingly strongest people have complete nervous breakdowns and act just downright psychotic. I tend to have nervous breakdowns, panic attacks, and meltdowns often, and I used to treat myself as if I were the only one who didn't have it all together. Then I saw people I look up to have meltdowns right in front of me too. I've seen little children have meltdowns, teachers have melt downs, the elderly have meltdowns, tough, strong men have meltdowns and everyone else in between. You see, I've come to realize the human brain and heart can only take so much stress. We all have a breaking point, we just all have a different breaking point, and we break down in different ways. While women tend to cry obnoxiously and make a scene, men tend to yell and swear like a sailor, maybe punch a wall or something. While children throw themselves on the ground and cry, older people will tend to use their words as weapons and just say the most horrible things, or do insane, stupid things to cover up a lie or to put on an act, but it eventually all breaks down. So the truth is, no one group of people goes insane, we all do. You do, I do. I'm sure you can think of a time you just snapped and lost it. I'm sure you can think of a time you saw a loved one snap and lose it. So, the fact of the matter is, as the Cheshire Cat put it so beautifully, "we're all mad here". No one has it all together, but we all have to learn how to treat ourselves and others well to keep us from reaching this point, because no one is immune to it.
