Wisdom. All about Wisdom.

I just finished reading the book of Proverbs. It is my favorite book in the bible because wisdom is truly a gift from God. A precious, wonderful gift! Here are only a few of the things that I've learned from the book of Proverbs...

Seek wisdom with all your heart, and it will bring you joy and will save you from calamity. Wisdom cries out on the streets for you. Go to her house and eat dinner with her. Chase her down, embrace her and love her, and you will reap great rewards and honor. She is more valuable than all the gold, silver, and rubies in the world! (proverbs 1:20-33, Proverbs 9:1-12).

Hard work will be an asset to you, but laziness is a liability (Proverbs 10:4, Proverbs 13:11).

Control your anger and don't be quick to fight. Only fools love to argue over everything, and no one respects someone who flies off the handle all the time (Proverbs 15:1, Proverbs 15:18, Proverbs 17:1, Proverbs 17:14, Proverbs 20:3)

Don't be proud. Listen to constructive criticism and correction, and you will flourish. If you despise correction, it will stunt your growth. (Proverbs 15:5, Proverbs 13:1, Proverbs 13:13, Proverbs 10:17)

Trust that God knows what he's doing a lot more than you do. (Proverbs 3:5-6, Proverbs 16:1, Proverbs 16:9, Proverbs 14:12)

I highly recommend the book of Proverbs. Read the entire thing! There's so much to learn from the Lord. If you haven't picked up a bible in a while, do so! It's filled with joy, peace, and wisdom. Seriously, don't stop at Proverbs. Keep reading on and on.

Oh, and I also recommend the NLT translation. It's what I use :)
