As an emotionally sensitive person, I tend to take things personally very often. It's a bad habit of self-hatred that I'm working on. However, I've come to realize something very important about getting easily offended; it hurts you way more than whatever it is you are offended by. It is such an energy and time waster. I don't understand why some people seem to actively seek for things to be offended by. I think it gives them a false sense of control. What's ironic about trying to get control is that the more control you try to get, the more control you lose. But here's the thing; how do you feel when you're offended? You feel like crap, right? And this is something that is under your control. You can control feeling like crap by learning to let things go. Trust me, it's like a weight lifted off of you when you learn to not take things personally. It's freeing. So freeing. You free up so much time and energy to deal with things that matter. So make like Elsa and let it go. XD (yes that was terrible but I don't care haha)
