Well, That's Awkward.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, can you remember the last time you were in an awkward/ embarrassing situation? Perhaps you've been humiliated right here on Wattpad because you were talking about God. Maybe you said something silly that you didn't mean? Have you ever been in a awkward/ embarrassing situation because of your faith? You know that squirmy, creepy crawly feeling you get when you're in an awkward situation? Yup, a few of God's people found themselves in uncomfortable situations. Remember the story of Joseph, the guy who got sold out by his jealous brothers and became a slave to Pharaoh? Remember when Pharaoh's wife began hitting on Joseph? Yeah, awkward...... imagine how uncomfortable that must have been for him. Did you know that when Paul and Barnabas were ministering in Athens, Paul healed a crippled man through Christ's power, and the Athenians thought Paul and Barnabas were Gods and offered them sacrifices? Uh oh.... yeah another distressing and awkward moment. They tried to stop them, but they couldn't. Or what about when God called Moses to go back to the very land he ran away from because he murdered a man. Talk about a situation uncomfortable enough to make him squirm! Daniel, who gained the favor of the king, had to disobey him and risk not only the good standing he had with the king, but his very life! The truth is we're guaranteed to be in uncomfortable, frightening, awkward, or downright embarrassing situations when we follow Christ. Perhaps you got your facts mixed up when talking about something in the bible. Maybe that person you were going to share the good news with began flirting with you instead. Perhaps you gained favor with someone and they invite you to a drinking party. Yikes! I wonder if satan uses these moments to try to lure us away from God. "You know that person really likes you, how awkward it would be to turn down that invitation to that drinking party. Come on, you don't want to put yourself in that position and you don't want to disappoint them!"

I'm here to tell you in moments like these is when God is right there waiting for you to turn to him. He will give you the courage to hold your head up and stand firm. Stand your ground with respect and love, and you will walk away with your dignity intact. These people I mentioned in the bible stood their ground for Christ, even if it was uncomfortable or scary. They kept their head up and trusted that Christ would bring them out of it with their dignity, and they all did. God never left their side. So don't let awkward and uncomfortable situations intimidate you and don't them shake your faithfulness to Christ. He will reward you for enduring through moments like that.
