You always wondered how long you would last without him. But your answer was always you wouldn't last without him. If he wasn't in your life, you wouldn't be anything.
Lately, Hoseok had been busy with his hectic schedule. You knew he had to work hard to get to where he was at but you sometimes wondered if it was worth it.
Because he was an idol, girls swoon and threw themselves at him knowing he had you. Yet, you continued to trust Hoseok and believe he would never cheat on you.
It wasn't unusual for Hoseok to not be home during late hours because you knew he was busy at the studio. Whatever he did there, you were proud of him.
But even when he isn't at home cuddling you, you wish he was there for you. Right by your side. Snuggling into you like a giant teddy bear. You missed his touch and embraced. You began to get lost in the thought of the last time he was ever really there for you.
Hoseok had been distant for a while. Only answering you with short answers. Leaving you on seen. Scheduling dates with you but then canceling last minute. Then came the lying. He never really told you where he was at times. You could do nothing but be the jealous girlfriend because he wasn't there with you.
Back then, you could remember when you two were so happy. You spent every minute with each other. You two were happy and free.
As Hoseok's fame grew bigger, his schedule packed tighter. He wasn't able to reach out to you often anymore. There were times when he attended parties, where there were many girls around, without you.
You could never bring yourself to think about him ever cheating on you. He just wouldn't do it, right? He loves you more than anything. He wouldn't be dumb enough to do that, right?
As Hoseok entered the home you two shared one night, you began to think about the last time you saw him in person. You stood from the couch.
"Hoseok." you greeted in a monotone voice.
"(y/n), what's wrong?" he answered, concern in his voice.
"I need you to be honest with me, Hoseok." you say to him, getting to the point.
"I'm always honest with you." Hoseok shrugged and walked towards the couch.
"Why have you been distant?" you asked bluntly. "Are you seeing someone else?"
Hoseok kept his eyes on the ground and never looked up for a short while. When he finally did, you let out a sigh.
"(y/n)—"
"It's not that I don't trust you." you look away, not wanting to meet his stare. "You just don't really seem like you want to support us anymore."
Hoseok did nothing and stayed silent.
You scoff and a hint of sadness crossed your voice as you say, "I knew it."
Your eyes were getting watery and there was nothing you could do about it. You felt your heart through your chest. You walk away and disappear through the bedroom door.
After that scene, you weren't even sure if he was worth it anymore. It was clear he didn't want you anymore. Hoseok grew tired of you.
You angrily shove all the things you could carry into a duffel bag before flipping off the lights and leaving the room. As soon as you step into the living room, Hoseok's eyes stayed on you, moving about the apartment, collecting your things. He didn't even stop you. He just sat and watched.
After you felt like you had everything you walked up to Hoseok and stopped, dropping the duffel by your feet. It was noticeable. The waterfall under your eyes.
"Anything you want to say to me before I walk out that door and never come back?" you ask, hoping for the one answer you wished.
It took everything in Hoseok to not just lash out at you for being so dramatic.
"(y/n)," Hoseok began, "I love you. So much. I would never ever cheat on you. I admit I have lied to you before, but I would never do anything else with another girl. Throughout our whole relationship, I have never even held hands with another girl. Don't you trust me?"
"It's not just that, Hoseok." He grabbed your hands and placed it in his. "You don't seem like you love me anymore."
"I do. I try and show it as often as I possibly can. Although, I'm rarely home, my mind is always on you. I'm working so hard only to get us on and out of this place. I've been distant only to keep you wanting me more. That way, when I arrive home, you'd spend every minute with me. Instead of that, you would just shut me out and ignore me. I love you. Trust me, (y/n). I would never stop loving you."
Hoseok's words left you speechless. He wiped away the tears from under your eyes with his thumbs.
You didn't realize. All his time, nothing was really his fault. It was only you thinking too much. Of course it was all because you were worried. You didn't want to lose him.
"I love you, Hoseok." You stared into his bright and shining eyes, which were never sad. "I'll never stop loving you, too."
He wrapped his hands around your back and placed his chin over your shoulder. You hug him back and pat his back.
"Please don't ever leave me, (y/n)."
—————
I was so worried. Scared to death. I actually thought she was going to leave me. I love her. Although she was wrong about me, I still love her. If I were in her position, I would've done the same. It's all about perspective. If she really walked out that door and never returned, I don't know how long I'll last without her. I wouldn't last without her. If she wasn't in my life, I wouldn't be anything.
