He eyed you with such regret every time he saw you out with Jin.

Namjoon knew Jin treated you better than he could ever. That's the thing. You were too good for him. He didn't deserve you.

How things ended were not what you had expected. You wanted a clean break and Namjoon couldn't even give you that.

If you had stayed with him, you wouldn't get anything out of your relationship other than his love.

—————

A tear rolled down your cheek as you thought about your breakup with Jin. It had happened a few months ago, how could you not be over it?

You still missed his scent on the sheets every morning, his flying kisses he'd send you every now and then, his back hugs that would surprise you, and his stupid dad jokes that always made your day.

You still missed him.

"You're thinking about moving to America?" You spoke, his recent words burning a hole in your brain. It was so soon. "To pursue your dream as a chef?"

Jin nodded, his gaze anywhere else but you. Hot tears lined your eyes, making it harder for you to speak.

All you knew was, you'll miss him, a whole fucking ton.

"Great, I'm happy for you." You choked out, the tears finally escaping out. Jin quickly brought his hands to your face, wiping your tears away.

"Don't cry, Y/N. I'll come back for you." Jin promised before he kissed your forehead.

It never happened. He never came back.

Instead, he built himself a career and lived happily in America, cooking on his own show, making millions, and not once has he visited you.

So, you ended things with a clean break.

After all this time, you had hated yourself for still wanting to be with him. You shouldn't. He didn't deserve you.

You were so good to everyone, but then someone would have their own way into your heart and crush it, leaving millions of pieces behind for you to mend.

"Why are you crying?" A familiar voice questioned, causing you to tense up. Namjoon wipes away your tears with the sleeves of his hoodie, the one you used to always wear around.

He knew damn well why you were crying. It had to be up to Hoseok to tell him you two had broken up.

Though you had seen him many times, you haven't spoken to your ex ex in nearly a year.

"You shouldn't be here..." Namjoon started, lacing his fingers with your's. "in his favorite shop, crying over him."

"Joonie." You sobbed out, his nickname from long ago foreign but sounding familiar to both of you guys. "Take me out of his favorite bakery. If I stay here, it'll just hurt me more."

Namjoon stood as you followed him to his car. He held the passenger door open for you to sit inside mimicking a gentleman.

"Where to?" asked Namjoon, revving the car engine.

"Anywhere." You responded, setting your gaze out the window. Namjoon began to drive off, the little bakery soon unable to be seen in your vision.

You shut your eyes to remove memory of the shop or the street of shops it was located near, only to drift into a subtle slumber.

Namjoon twisted the key out of the keyhole, almost sure he broke it. "Oh, shit."

Your eyes began to twitch as you fumbled around in your sleep. He sighed in relief once he realized the key was safe.

A familiar whistle tune from Namjoon caused your eyes to flutter open. You sat in the passenger seat of his car, looking around his car and through the windshield.

"Our beach?" (where jiminie and tae at?) You questioned out loud, gazing at the golden sand and the pale blue ocean. "I missed this place."

Ever since you and Namjoon had broken up, you've never set foot on that beach ever again, until now—

you were here, with him. Namjoon.

And he was keeping your mind off of Jin.

"I missed walking with you." Namjoon admitted, knowing he walked along the shore every now and then without your hand in his and it pained him to know he might never get that back.

He caught your attention with a shy dimpled smile and met eyes with you, a silver glint in his eyes.

"Joonie—"

"I regret everything." Namjoon gulped. "I'm such an idiot for letting you go. I should've fought for you. I should've gave you more than just—"

You cut him off with a short kiss on his lips, only enough to distract him from his thoughts and because you wanted to remove your thoughts about Jin.

"—my love." Namjoon finished his sentence after the kiss.

Nothing has changed. His scent hasn't changed. He still was the same old Namjoon you fell in love with years ago.

"I don't need more than your love. Your love was enough."
