(Jin)
"Hi, Jin." she greeted excitedly, waving a hand as she entered the bakery. Jin enjoyed seeing her every afternoon, well, usually every afternoon. Sometimes, she would have culinary classes.
"Oh, hi, (y/n)." Jin awkwardly said as he cleared his throat. She chuckled at the shy, blushing boy and set down a plastic bag of cookies. His expression suddenly changed.
"Wow, is this for me?" he asked her and she just nodded.
"It's for you and Taehyung."
"What's for him and Taehyung?" asked Taehyung suspiciously as he re-entered from the break room. Her eyes sparkled as her boyfriend leaned in and pecked her on the lips.
"Thank you, baby. Did you make these?" Taehyung thanked her to which she replied with a quiet giggle and a nod. Jin just stood to the side and stared at the two. His heart twitched.
"Yah! Where have you been? You've been gone for about an hour." Jin lectured as another customer entered the bakery and Jin just smiled and bowed at him. Jisoo was a regular customer of the bakery.
"Hi, Jin." Jisoo said as she approached the cashier. "Can I get some croissants?"
"Sure," Jin replied, typing in something on the keypad. "Anything else?"
"A caramel macchiato please." Jin revealed her the price of her items and she handed the boy some dollars.
"Thank you, Jisoo." Jisoo walked to a booth and sat, patiently waiting for her croissants.
"Okay, Taehyung, go make her macchiato. " He ordered Taehyung. The boy groaned before doing his job, disappearing behind a door.
"Do you need help?" she asked Jin, who was busy fetching a bag.
"No, just hang tight." Jin opened the display case to see only a few croissants laying on the platter. He pondered for a few minutes. "Actually, can you get on some oven mitts and pull the croissants out from there?"
"Yeah, no problem." She slipped the oven mitts on and pulled on the oven handle. She reached for the pan. The hot oven rack touched the skin of her arm and she let out an audible yelp.
Jin whipped his head around as fast as possible, rushing to help her. "Aish. (y/n)! Be careful."
The caring boy caressed the burned area on her hand. It was pink and it looked extremely painful. Jin rubbed the area until she calmed down a bit. Then he noticed something he hadn't noticed before. Large dark purple and pink marks covered her whole arm. His eyes widen.
Taehyung burst through the door with a drink in his hand. He stumbled when he saw Jin with his girlfriend on the floor, rubbing her arm over and over. The two hadn't even notice Taehyung return. Then Taehyung saw the burn mark on her arm, among the bruises.
"Yah! (y/n), why are you so clumsy and stupid?" Taehyung lectured his girlfriend and she stood up instantly. He snarled at Jin. "That's my girlfriend. Back off."
"Taehyung, I was just helping. Sorry, I won't be like this anymore." Her eyes look frightened.
"Sure, you always say that."
"I'm sorry, Taehyung." She replied, her hand rubbing on her arm.
Jin was left dumbfounded. Why did she have so many bruises along her arm?
----------
"I'm sorry, Taehyung." you said as he entered your shared apartment door. Taehyung just rolled his eyes and headed off. He smelt of alcohol and booze. His hair was messy, like someone ran their fingers through them. The first buttons on his shirt had been unbuttoned.
"Whatever." He disappeared into the bedroom and left you standing in the middle of the living room. Did he have a bad day?
"Taehyung?" You asked, poking your head into the room. Taehyung laid on the bed, eyes shut.
"What now? I'm tired."
"Do you want something for dinner?" You carefully asked him, smiling. "I made some pasta earlier. I think you'd enjoy it--"
"Just let me sleep!" He shouted at you and you stumbled back. "I'm tired."
"Sorry, baby." You answered before leaving the room, hearing a "Goddamnit. This woman." from him. You grimaced at his words.

Jin couldn't get her arm bruises out of his head. There was something about her eyes that showed fear when she saw him com across them. But how could Taehyung not notice and just ignore them? Suddenly, a very disturbing thought came across Jin's brain.
She had been abused. That's where the bruises came from. Jin could imagine seeing more bruises along her legs, her chest, her torso. If she was his, he'd make sure she was never hurt. He would kiss all her bruises and scars away.
But she wasn't his. She was Taehyung's and Jin could tell Taehyung didn't really care for her. And it pained him.
"Oh Jin-hyung," Namjoon spoke as he shut the door behind him. "I just saw your co-worker, Taehyung, with a new girl."
Jin froze. He clenched his fists. How dare that douchebag do that to his own girlfriend?
"Did he and (y/n) break up or something?" Namjoon asked, to which Jin didn't answer. He didn't dare move a muscle. "They've been together since high school, right? That's a long time."
"That bastard." Jin finally spoke.
"What's wrong with you?" Namjoon questioned, joining Jin on the couch. "It's not like you like (y/n) or something."
"That's the thing." Jin admitted. "I do like her."

*the next night*
You waited for Taehyung to come back home. He left around ten and still hasn't came back. He didn't tell you where he was going but you didn't mind. You were sure he'd come back.
Just as you finished your thoughts, the doorknob rattled. Taehyung burst through the door. He eyed you with angry eyes.
"You." Taehyung started. "You made me lose my job."
You whimpered from the couch.
Taehyung approached you. "You bitch."
He grabbed a chunk of your hair. You held his hand and tried to pull it off. "Ow, Taehyung. Please don't do this. I'm sorry."
Taehyung ignored you and dragged you to your bedroom, still clutching your hair. It pained you. His other hand harshly gripped your side as he threw you onto the bed. Tears spilled down your face.
