the tiles keep continuing, moving along in a direction that never seems to end, only getting harder and more exhausting as more tiles flow on by.

that was what our love was like.

it started off easy and simple. we both tried our absolute hardest in the beginning, giving our small chance of love the effort it needed to grow into something beautiful.

as we continued on our journey of love, the tiles seemed to flow only quicker, speeding up as we tried our best to keep up with it's never-ending pace.

we thought we could do it all and master this game of love. it was only proven wrong that we had no power over what was surrounding us as the tiles began to crumble, often getting left behind because we didn't deal with it.

more problems arise, only worsening our dying fate together. it turns out that we were not really meant to be together until the end. we were, in fact, just placeholders—playing the tiles back and forth just so we could have a higher score to beat, a higher amount of pain and love to experience later on in the future.

we were both just the buildup to experience more in the world.

the tiles keep flowing while we try and deal with them all, but in the end, there are much too many tiles for us to play with and we end up losing the game due to exhaustion.

later on in the game, no one wants to play anymore so there really was no point to start it in the first place. but then what does it mean to the tiles we have played?

well, they're indeed just a bunch of accomplishments we can look back on to see how much we've solved, how much knowledge and understanding we've acquired through the years.

in the end, love is love and piano tiles is just a game. but why did i lose you when the tiles did stop?

the spring breeze lightly forces itself against the exposed skin of min yoongi's neck. he adjusts his gray scarf in order to block any more wind from hitting him. yoongi smiles to himself, remembering a time last year when he was happy.

it was the happiest moments of his life that he's spent with her. yet, the memory never seems to sadden him, only bringing him joy because of how happy they both had been that day.

min yoongi walks into her favorite bookstore around the corner, greeting the shop owner politely as he looks around the store, hoping to see someone he remembered.

"she's not here today, young man." the store owner says with a saddened smile that causes yoongi to lose hope. she points to a shelf containing brand new books that yoongi's never seen before. "she handpicked these for me to sell."

yoongi nodded back and smiled, remembering when she'd spend countless hours talking about her current reads. "she always did have good taste."

the store owner begins talking to a new customer which leaves yoongi alone with his thoughts as he looks around the handpicked novels on sale. some of them yoongi have heard of before. he remembered how excited she was to explain the plot and her favorite characters to him.

he dearly missed that.

he dearly missed her.

the bell on the store's front door rings as it opens, revealing someone he hasn't been in contact with for a long time. it made him sad to have seen her beautiful face once more, even happier now that he wasn't a piano tile in her life making things difficult.

yoongi picks up a novel quickly and buries his face in it, not looking up so he wouldn't expose himself. she didn't seem to notice and begin to converse with the lady from before, asking her if she had any new books that have came out recently.

the store owner nods and heads into the back room, leaving her to stand in the middle of the bookstore, searching around for any other books she'd like to read.

yoongi watches her every move with such amazement. she was still so beautiful a year later. then she looks in his direction, puzzled to see someone so familiar to someone she once knew long ago. he discreetly pulls his cap down so it hides his eyes when he looks down onto the book pages.

when her eyes look away, yoongi shoots his head up, eyes never leaving her face. he missed her that much. she pulls out a phone and begins playing a game of piano tiles while she waits for the store owner to return with latest releases.

yoongi could feel his eyes brimming with tears because of how much he loved her. then the tears roll down his cheeks and he's unaware of how much he's actually crying when teardrops start hitting the page of the book he's 'reading'.

his eyes lower onto the page as he attempts to wipe off the tear, knowing well that books don't just renew itself after it's been used or damaged. yoongi then comes across a phrase that he needed to hear.

"it continues and flows as if no end occurs,
yet crumbles and tears apart as if it was deserved."

yoongi felt as if he's heard the familiar phrase come out of her mouth. he looks up to see her bright and glossy eyes staring right into his own star-strucked eyes.

he finishes the lines,

"and although it's an effort, it's a predestined fate.
love will only continue when you leave your soulmate."

she smiles, a tear sliding down her rosy cheeks. "you remembered it."

"how could i not when you read it to me all the time?" yoongi replies, stepping forward to wipe away her tear-stained cheek. "and i'm guessing you know what else came next."

"not every love is perfect, we all have yet to see.
the love will only show itself if you are meant to be."

she recites from memory as she pulls yoongi into a warm hug, letting all the tears she's been holding in out.

she dearly missed him.
