"What?" She said, scrunching up her nose in a way that made her look too adorable. I just wanted to pinch her cheeks.

But she had heard my little mumble so I tried to play it off cool. I can't have her knowing how I truly feel because truth is, she's dangerous to everyone.

If you fall too hard, it'll be difficult to pick yourself back up.

"Huh?" I pretend to have said nothing, completely dodging her eyes, which were trying to read mine.

She does nothing else but get off me and walk to the couch, ignoring our puzzling situation. As always, I follow her and grab the remote off the coffee table set in front of us.

Flipping through the channels, I gave up instantly, finding it hard to watch one channel without any romancey-love stuff because then, I'd want to have someone.

So I just turned off the television.

Our awkward moment of silence was broken as she spoke, staring at and fiddling with her fingers. "Why do fools fall for me?"

I didn't have an answer, all I knew was, she'd be really difficult to love fully, but I do so without a moment's hesitation.

"Anyone who falls in love with you is a fool because I know they can never treat you the way you'd love to be treated. They'll treat you however they want to treat you, thinking you'd like it. I know you dislike being dominated by others." I explained with the best knowledge I could muster.

Her gaze locked onto mine and we just blinked for a while, not breaking the eye contact until—

"Do you think you're a fool?" She asked, causally biting her lip, driving me crazy with each breath she took. God, I just wanted to kiss those lips, at least once.

"I know I am." I laughed it off, scratching the back of my head. "We're friends, you know this."

She didn't laugh along with me, her intense stare on me as she nodded and spoke, "Amazing how you know you're one."

And now I'm confused. What exactly was she telling me?

"But Kookie, I'm asking you if you like me." Her blunt words crawled into my heart and knocked on it, asking for the truth.

"No." Her eyes instantly dropped down and she patted her rosy cheeks from embarrassment.

"Sorry—"

"I'm in love with you." My own words and surprised me, too, but that wasn't the most surprising thing. The next thing that came along fulfilled my wishes and dreams, keeping me happy for the rest of my life.

"Me too." Before I could react, her lips collided with mine, bringing me to a state of euphoria.

I can't believe we've been friends this long and she hasn't uttered a word about this to me. For as long as I can remember, she is the only girl I have had feelings for.

And now our lips are locked together. She's kissing me.

Me.

I guess we're a perfect match because we're both fools who have fallen for each other.
