twenty-three minutes late.

we had planned this hour and day way before ahead of time and usually the man was on time, but not today. it seemed as if yoongi leisurely took his time to get here, leaving me in the cold wearing nothing but a thin black dress and a coat. no panties, no bra.

this was all yoongi's asking, all his doing. of course i am a part of it but he was the one who approached me. what else was i supposed to do when my boyfriend went around getting drunk with random girls? yoongi was a nice man, but he was also fairly dangerous when it came to anyone hurting all that was precious to him.

at 21:25, a pair of cold hands wrap around my middle in the midst of the situation. i tilt my head and turn slightly to make sense of the person. his bangs were pulled back from his face with a headband and from the darkness, his eyes were hard to screen. what did this stranger want?

"baby, i couldn't help but notice how lonely you looked here all by yourself,"

his familiar, velvety voice said before his hands slide to the strings that tie up my coat and tugs at it. i freeze in this moment because i'm afraid of this manner. i don't know what will happen next if i do anything to stop him. what if he pulls out a gun, or a knife?

"who were you waiting for?"

i shift uncomfortably as his lips brush over my neck and he begins to kiss my skin, his lips lingering on more than expected. his hands grab at my everything, his touch way too familiar to notice anything else. i feel harassed and embarrassed that i even let myself be in this situation. so i lightly pull myself away from him.

"i-i'm actually waiting for my boyfriend."

i say, turning myself around to face him and he chuckles darkly. i can see him a bit more clearly and flinch when he nears me because holy shit, this man was my boyfriend.

"are you saying you don't remember me, baby?"

taehyung laughs and wraps his arms around me, lifting me up slightly to kiss my lips. i kiss him back but grow anxious at the next thing. what if yoongi shows up? then our whole charade would have been figured out.

"how wasted are you, y/n?"

he laughs. i let taehyung back me into the nearby building wall and kiss me. i had no idea how he found me here and at this time but he did, and it didn't look like he was completely sober either.

"y/n?"

a voice calls out asking. i break away and shift my eyes to see yoongi. he stumbles back, shocked when taehyung turns around to see what was happening.

"yoongi? what are you doing here?"

taehyung asks his friend and yoongi only shrugs his shoulders.

"i was just driving around."

his tone seemed defeated, as if he didn't really expect this to happen. i shoot him a dejected look and he nods his head, telling me it was okay.

that night i had asked yoongi why he ran so late and he shook his head to say his girlfriend had cheated on him before breaking up with him. though i was so sure taehyung was hooking up with his girlfriend, i didn't say anything.

it wasn't like we were the main characters in their lives, we were just the supporting roles who wanted that little spark of thrill. so yoongi and i began seeing each other as a way to cope with the loss of the love we used to have.

the correct term? we were cheaters and they were cheaters. that's the simple explanation of our situation. however, in this world, there are moments of realization where things aren't necessarily as they seem, but in our lives, we were the main characters.

and so in the middle of the night, i go and see yoongi. he holds me close while we fall asleep, letting the shame and guilt roll off our skin because we had already established it. i snuggle into his chest and wish there could be more to our lives but it was simple.

yoongi and i were cheaters.
