Chapter 16: You will not take me Away; The Curse Mark

You were all in Konoha again, walking through the streets silently. You had your arm wrapped around Kyo's arm again, but the moment you all stepped into the city, you felt him get tense all over. You knew he was ready just in case anyone saw through his transformation jutsu. You all hadn't said anything for the whole walk, and you felt like you were just walking with Itachi and Kisame.

Finally, you guys stopped at a fork in the street. You turned to look at Nartuo and Sakura and immediately saw the look in Naruto's eyes. He didn't even have to say anything; you knew that he wanted to walk Sakura home alone. You smiled before saying,

"Well, goodnight Sakura. Naruto. We're going the other way. We had a good time."

Sakura and Naruto smiled and waved, but Kyo just remained still and emotionless as usual as Naruto and Sakura walked away. You finally let go of Kyo's arm since you didn't have to pretend anymore. You turned around to head back home, not even paying attention to whether Kyo followed you or not.

It was pretty late so a lot of people weren't even out. You walked with your hands behind your head, looking up at the sky. Your mind was lost in your own thoughts when you heard footsteps next to you. You looked through the corner of your eye to see Kyo walking next to you, his hands in his pockets.

You blinked and looked at him curiously, letting your hands drop to your sides.

"What are you-"

"I'm making sure you get home," said Kyo before you could even finish your sentence. You looked at him for a few moments before looking ahead, the street lights being your only source of light. You realized how close Kyo was walking to you, but you didn't let it bother you.

After a while of walking, you two finally came to the stairs that led up to your apartment. You turned to look at Kyo and saw he was staring at you.

"Um...well...bye," you said, shrugging and turning to go up the stairs. Suddenly Kyo's hand came out and cupped your cheek, making you turn to look at him. You looked up at him, your lips slightly parted as you were about to say something but he put a finger to your lips. You silenced, still looking at him with questionable eyes. You saw him start to lean in, and your heart jumped.

Every second that went by as you saw him start to lean in you could hear your heart pounding harder and harder. But, then you noticed he wasn't leaning in low enough. You continued to watch him until you felt his warm lips press against your forehead. Even if it wasn't a kiss, it still made your blush.

"_______?" said a voice. You looked up quickly and saw Sasuke standing up on the top of the steps, looking down at you curiously.

"Uh...ehehe...hey Sasuke," you said, quickly stepping away from Kyo, looking embarrassed. Sasuke looked at Kyo and gave him a small glare, but Kyo didn't even both looking up at Sasuke.

"Goodnight," Kyo said before leaving swiftly and silently. You just stared out after him until he was gone from sight. You then slowly made your way up the stairs, Sasuke standing there waiting for you.

"Who was he?" he asked, looking at you with a raised eyebrow.

"His name is Kyo...he was my date tonight," you said, walking passed Sasuke and into your apartment. He followed you and closed the door behind you two.

"You had a date tonight?" asked Sasuke, and you hinted a slight change of tone in his voice. You looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah...something wrong with that?" you asked, putting your hand on your hips. Sasuke looked away quickly before walking passed you.
