Chapter 27: Flames of Shadows; Healing wounds

"Hn...I didn't think you ______ would have been able to unlock Akako's power," said the strange girl from up on top of the tall branch. Your ruby eyes glared at her through the shadow on your face. Your sharp teeth glistened as you clenched them at her.

"Who are you and what do you want?" you said, your fists clenched tightly. The girl smiled wickedly and pointed to herself.

"Me? I am Suzume...bender of Darkness," she hissed her title smoothly. All of a sudden she jumped off the high branch and within a second she was near you. You noticed that her black nails seemed to have grown longer. You stepped back slightly, your sharp wings out in a defensive position. Suzume just smirked at you, her black necklace flashing slightly.

"What do you want?" you asked in a very demanding voice. She just shook her head, her smirk widening;.

"My...you really are clueless aren't you? You have no idea what power you are controlling right now, do you?" asked Suzume, her smirk starting to falter slightly as she looked at you. You didn't answer, your just stared at her. So she continued with,

"The necklace, as you should know, contains the Faceless demon Akako who has the ability to bend fire. I have the necklace of Darkness and it contains the Faceless demon known as Jaakuna. She has the ability to bend shadows and darkness itself into any shape or form she wants. How else could Itachi possibly have been poisoned? My shadow was the one who poisoned him, and since our bending abilities rely on our chii and not chakra, he couldn't sense it," she said while chuckling lightly to herself. Your red eyes looked at Itachi. He was still down on his knees, his emotionless face looking at you. You looked back at Suzume, stepping forward a little.

"Why did you bring him into this?" you said dangerously. Suzume's smirk was back now.

"I have a desire to possess all the power of all the Faceless Demons. To get you to obey me, I would have needed bait..." she said softly, her dark eyes glinting evilly. Your eyes widened slightly.

"I came here without knowing he was around," you said, your hands unclutching slightly.

"True, but seeing him stopped you from doing any jutsus," she said, glaring slightly, "Fact is, _______, he is your biggest weakness..."

Your and Itachi's eyes widened at this. You death glared at Suzume, your fists reclenching again.

"Shut up..." you whispered harshly, your ruby eyes flashing dangerously.

"What was that?" she asked mockingly, holding out her hands slightly. Your clentched fists, your glare incredibly harsh now. You felt flames coming onto your fists as the rage went boiling into your blood.

"I said...SHUT UP!" you screamed, diving at her, throwing a punch directly in her heart. Before you could realize what was happening, she was gone. You stopped yourself from falling forward, looking for her. You sensed something coming quickly to you from down below. You kicked off the ground, your dragon wings spreading out widely.

You stayed floating in the air while they flapped slowly. You looked down and saw where you had been was now covered in all shadow. You saw a figure melting from the shadow up into the surface again. Suzume's eyes glistened at you as she stared up at your floating form.

"Very good Akako....but let's see how you go against Jaakuna...." Suzume whispered dangerously. She spread out her arms like a bird, her eyes shut tightly. You watched as the shadows beneath her slowly started to wrap itself around her body, completely ungulfing her just like your fire had done to you.

You waited as the shadows covered for a few moments until they suddenly melted off her. Instead of Suzume, there was someone else standing there. Her once long black hair was now silver with some black streaks through it. She also had huge wings on her back except they looked like wings of a sparrow. She looked up slowly at you again and you saw harsh silver eyes with no pupils looking up at you. She smirked evilly and her grin also had long teeth.
