Chapter 24: They stole my necklace; A figure of the Earth

Three men crouched behind a few bushes, watching you as you trained. They watched you for a long time, waiting for you to be alone so they could attack. They watched you train with a big fish man. You were using...fire? You didn't even have to use any hand signs, the fire just came out.

"She's dangerous..." whispered the first man. That made the men a little more concerned with trying to just jump out and get you. So, they just wait patiently. Finally, they saw the fish man leave. All three of them stood up a little more so the tops of their heads could now be seen. You were just standing there, staring out onto the water with your back to them.

You suddenly heard a russle in the bushes, which made you look over your shoulder, but you didn't see anything. They were now able to see your face. It looked familiar...

The captain reached into his sack and pulled out a piece of paper. He unfolded it and in big print at the top it said, "WANTED". There was a picture of a young girl in the center of it, her (color) eyes looking up at the men.

"Is that her?" said the second man, glancing down at the picture that the captain held in his hand. The captain glanced down at the picture and then back up at you. Then, he saw the glimmer of your necklace. A smirk appeared on his face.

"It's her alright..." Then he noticed someone walking towards you. He crouched down lower as to not be seen. He saw an average height man with black hair and what appeared to be red eyes walking towards you. The man stood next to you as you turned to look at him. The captain saw a strange glimmer in your eyes as you looked at the man standing next to you. The captain also noticed your fingers holding onto your necklace tightly as you looked up at the man.

"...and I think I just figured out how to get her to cooporate with us..." said the captain darkly.

"Where were you all day, Itachi?" you asked, trying to keep emotionless. Itachi just looked into your eyes for a second before saying,

"Another mission."

You nodded and looked away, your fingers still around your necklace. You had been considering giving Itachi the necklace back. It's not you really needed it. You could fight without it, and besides, after he rejected you like that you didn't want it anymore. You sighed and let your arm fall back down to your side, still not looking at Itachi.

You could feel his sharingan eyes staring at you intensly. It made you shiver slightly and fold your arms across your chest. Something had been caught in your mind all day that you couldn't get out. You wanted to stop feeling stupid for making a move on him last night and then getting turned down. You had to say something, just so you could feel better.

"Itachi, I'm sorry for what happened last night," you said, your eyes now closed. Itachi stayed still, just listening to you, "I just got caught up in the moment. I didn't mean anything that happened last night."

Itachi still remained emotionless while he looked at you. Then slowly, his hand lifted up. He brushed a few strands of hair out of your face, looking deep into your eyes.

"I can't for the mission," was all he said before he quickly turned around and left. You stood there, dumbfounded at the spot. Did he mean he can't get close to you because of the Akatsuki mission? You sighed heavily and looked down at the water once again.

You suddenly heard a rustle in the bushes behind you. You turned around about to investigate when suddenly two arms grabbed your from behind. A muscular man was holding you, smirking.

"Let go of me!" you shouted, performing quick hand signs that sent the water flying into the man's face. He let go of you and you quickly stumbled forward to get away when another man stood in front of you. You turned right to go into the forest but even another man blocked you.
