The sun was coming out again, making it a lot less gloomy in Kohona. There were still a few puddles here in there, but other than that it seemed like nothing happened. You walked down one of the busiest streets quietly, keeping mostly to yourself. You had been thinking for a long time about the situtation with Sasuke. You sighed to yourself, knowing that it was going to be really hard to let him go. You put your hands behind your head and stared up at the sky, still walking slowly to...who knows where. Your thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a familar voice,

"Hey ________, wait up!"

You turned your head around to see Naruto with a big grin on his face running towards you. You gave him a faint smile, letting your hands drop back down to your sides.

"Hey, you wanna go get some ramen?" he asked, looking up at you with his enthusiastic blue eyes. You pondered for a moment, and then shook your head.

"Thanks Naruto...but I just want some time alone," you said, turning your back to him and walking away.

"Uh...alright...maybe some other time then!" he shouted at your back. You raised your hand for your response, but just kept walking. You heard your stomach growl suddenly, and you groaned. You hadn't eaten anything so far, but ramen didn't sound very appitizing at the moment. You decided to go get a drink and some type of food, so you walked into a small resturant and found none other than Sasuke sitting by himself at a table. He looked a bit irritated, glaring down at his cup of tea. You blinked and walked over to him,

"Sasuke? What are you doing here?"

He looked at you and you noticed his eyes lightened for a minute before going back to their annoyed state.

"Hey _______...I was here with Kakashi, then he suddenly said he had to go help Asuma and Kurenai with something and left me here," he said, turning back to his tea. You blinked and then sat in front of him on the opposite side of the table,

"May I join you then?" He nodded a response, laced his fingers and pressed his chin against his hands, "So...what did you and Kakashi talk about before he left?" you asked, trying to keep on a curious face instead of the real sadness you felt.

"...We didn't talk about much...he was talking about Naruto when he said he had to go..."

You wanted to sigh in relief, but you held it back,

'So Kakashi hasn't told him yet...I just hope when he does tell him, he doesn't tell about Itachi...' you thought to yourself while you quietly sip your tea that the waiter had just sat in front of you. You and Sasuke talked a little bit, but mostly kept to yourselves. You both headed out of the resturant toether when you suddenly heard a loud explosion from somewhere. You turned your head the direction the noise came from, but nothing had seemed to happen. No one else had seemed to hear it either, but Sasuke noticed your sudden alertness.

"What's wrong ______?" he asked, turning to face you.

"Uh...nothing...I just thought I heard something..." you said quietly, still looking in the same direction. You blinked and looked back at him, "So, are you going to head home?"

"No...I want to go practice on Chidori for a little bit..." he said, looking up at you. You nodded and put your hands on your hips,

"Just make sure you're careful!" you said, playfully ruffling his hair just like you used to do to him when he was younger. He just smirked, nodded, and ran past you. You watched him leave, and then you turned on your heel, heading home. The sound of the explosion still captured in your mind.

'I must have just been hearing things...' you think to yourself while you push through the busy crowd. Little did you know, you weren't imaging things. There really was an explosion, and it was caused by a huge fight going on by the river.
