Chapter 12 – Katie Peterson
Obviously, Jessica knew that we weren’t going to be getting any sleep tonight; she had brought her iPod over with her—thank the lord, this chick has…like…every song on here, it’s unreal.
We plugged her iPod into the docking station and I immediately scrolled through ‘Artists’ and found—ONE DIRECTION!! Jessica was sitting in a pair of pajamas that I had lent her and we were literally dancing around the room and shouting the lyrics to ‘What Makes You Beautiful’, we both had at least one cup of each soda in this house—and let’s just say, there’s A LOT of soda in this house.
“That’s what makes you beautiful!” Harry’s angelic voice sang, closing the song. I ran over to the iPod and found One Thing; dragging Jessica out of the nearby chair she had been sitting on.
“Come on lazy ass,” I shrieked, “GET. UP!” I popped the ‘p’ and we both went flying as Jessica fell out of the chair; we were both on the floor dying laughing.
“I’m up,” you could hear the “pain” in Jessica’s voice as she pushed herself up off of the floor.
“SHHHHHH!!!!!!” I shushed, “I CAN HEAR LOUIS!!!”
“Oh my god, you and Louis Tomlinson,” she rolled her eyes.
I gasped, horrified, “You take that back!” I pointed at her—acting like I was drunk.
“Make. Me.” She glared at me, sarcastically.
I, jokingly, cracked my knuckles and began chasing her throughout the house. Jessica was screaming and laughing at the same time as she ran around the island in the kitchen.
“Take it back, Jessica!” I shouted.
“NEVER!!” she started running the opposite direction, laughing evilly. I ran out of the kitchen and finally caught up to her—I jumped on her back and she started spinning in a circle.
“Take it back!”
“No.”
“Jessica!”
“No, Katie!!”
“TAKE IT BACK!!” I yelled, in between laughs.
“Nuh uh,” Jessica made some weird baby sound—this is what she gets for babysitting, I swear.
“Jessica,” I taunted. “Don’t make me call Eric and tell him about your incident with the roller skates and the pool.”
Jessica stopped spinning in a circle, me still on her back, “You wouldn’t…”
“Jessica…you’ve known me for god knows how long?? You should know I’m not kidding,” I said evilly.
Jessica—literally—flung me off of her back and held her arms up in surrender, “I, Jessica Montez, take everything I said…back.”
“Good girl,” I winked at her.
