Freya's POV

"Come on Freya, I want to go wait for Gandalf" Frodo says.

"Frodo, Gandalf is not due for another ten minutes. Find a book to read and then we'll go wait for him" I tell him. "I hope he got the supplies I asked him for" I say looking at my healing herbs. As head Healer I have to make sure the healing hole is stoked and train new healers. Lots of the herbs used in healing is found outside the Shire. Gandalf brings me the supplies when he visits.

"Ok got a book, now lets go" Frodo says grabbing my wrist dragging me to the door.

"Joy keep an eye on the house for me" I tell my second in command. She nods her head smiling and I leave with Frodo. We run to the path Gandalf always uses to enter Bag end. When we didn't see Gandalf in sight Frodo sat down against a tree as he began to read his book. While I sit beside him going over my mantle list of the supplies I asked Gandalf to get.

"Do you think he'll bring his fireworks?" Frodo asks me.

"Of course he will, it is Uncle Bilbo's birthday. Knowing him, he may have a special firework just for Uncle Bilbo" I state. "I just hope Pippin and Merry don't cause any trouble tonight" I tell him.

"Don't worry, they promised to be on their best behavior" Frodo assures me. "He's late" he adds looking at the sky.

"When isn't he late?" I ask him smiling and he chuckles returning to his book.

"Down from the door where it began. And I must follow if I can" we hear someone sing. We smile recognizing the voice as Frodo closes the book he'd been reading. We then ran to the road to say Gandalf driving a horse drawn cart.  "The road goes ever on and on, Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the road has gone, And I must follow if I can..." he continues to sing.

"You're late" Frodo declares and Gandalf stop's his cart. He looks up at us as we cross our arms.

"A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to" Gandalf tells him. They soon smile and Frodo jumps into the carriage saying it was wonderful to see Gandalf again. I jump in next and hug Gandalf. "Did you both really think I'd miss your uncle's birthday?" he asks us.

"Of course not" I assure him as Frodo and I sat either of him. Gandalf then got the horse moving again. "Did you get my supplies?" I ask and he nods his head making me smile.

"So, how is the old rascal? I hear it's going to be a party of special magnificence" he states.

"You know Bilbo. He's got the whole place in an uproar" Frodo tells him.

"Well, that should please him" Gandalf chuckles.

"Half the Shire's been invited. And the rest of them are turning up anyway" I tell him. We all laugh. We make out way past the fields of bright crops, over the bridge by an old mill, and past the market square. Then begin our climb up a gradual slope towards our destination. The hillside and the surrounds are lush and verdant.

"To tell you the truth, Bilbo's been a bit odd lately. I mean, more than usual. He's taken to locking himself in his study. He spends hours and hours poring over old maps when he thinks we're not looking" Frodo explains.

"He just wants to finish his book" I assure Frodo.

"No this is different, he's up to something" Frodo insists looking up at Gandalf. But the grey wizard is non-committal and just stares deliberately at the scenery. "All right keep your secrets, but I know you have something to do with it" Frodo tells him.

"Good gracious me" Gandalf says.

"Before you came along we Bagginses were very well thought of" Frodo states.

"True, never had any adventures or did anything unexpected" I add.

"If you're referring to the incident with the dragon, I was barely involved. All I did was give your uncle a little nudge out of the door" Gandalf assures us.

"Whatever you did, you've been officially labeled a disturber of the peace" Frodo tells him. As we drive past, Hobbit children are drawn to the sight of the old wizard and his cart. They run behind the cart, shouting Gandalf's name. Fireworks go off from the cart. The hobbit children cheer and Gandalf laughs.

"Gandalf, we're glad you're back" I say and Frodo nods his head in agreement.

"So am I" Gandalf says smiling. He stops the carriage and we get off. Frodo and I grab the supply bags for the healing house. Then wave goodbye to Gandalf as he continues on to our's and our Uncle's house. With Frodo's help I get the supplies inside, before he leaves to help set up for the party. Joy and I then put the supplies away, before cleaning up for the party ourselves.
