Freya's POV
We pass out onto a larger branch of the Anduin river beneath sheer cliffs. Legolas has continued to teach me Elvish and Gimli has tried to teach me some Dwarfish. But I find Elvish easier to learn. Also I'm still half ignoring Gimli. He seems confused, but does not ask. Though gets annoyed at Legolas and my short elvish conversations. Legolas is becoming like an older brother to me and it felt nice.
Anyway darkness falls as we rest on a small island. I notice Gimli speaking to Merry and Pippin while. Sam watches over a sleeping Frodo. Boromir and Aragorn are by the shore talking in low voices. "Freya, I know it's none of my business. But why are you ignoring Gimli?" Legolas asks me. "I thought you were friends" he says confused.
"We were, are. I don't know" I say sighing.
"Cin like hon" he says giving me a knowing smile. (Translation: you like him).
"Ceri- ú-" I say defiantly. (Translation: do not).
"Denial" he whispers and I glare at him. "Ho likes cin too" he states. (Translation: he likes you too).
"Does ú-" I tell him (translation: does not). "He thinks Lady Galadriel is more fair than all the jewels beneath the earth" I quote.
"You are very beautiful Freya, he'd be a fool not to see it" he states. "Get some rest, we still have a long journey ahead of us" he adds. I nod my head and lay down covering myself in my new cloak before falling asleep.
(Next day, on the river) still Freya's POV
Wepass through a canyon as I notice Boromir looking at my brother."Frodo, Freya the Argonath! Long have I desired to look upon the kings of old. My kin" Aragorn announces as we all look up at the statues in awe. Soon wedisembark on a gravel beach, I notice Boromir looks troubled. But ignore as Aragorn speaks. "We cross the lake at nightfall. Hide the boats and continue on foot. We approach Mordor from the north" he states.
"Oh, yes?! It's just a simple matter of finding our way through Emyn Muil? An impassable labyrinth of razor sharp rocks! And after that, it gets even better!" Gimli states and Pippin looks scared while I glare at Gimli. "Festering, stinking marshlands, far as the eye can see!" he exclaims.
"That is our road. I suggest you take some rest and recover your strength, Master Dwarf" Aragorn tells him. Before walking away with Legolas.
"Recover my...?! Phrrr..." Gimli grumbles before turning to Pippin. "No dwarf need recover strength! Pay no heed to that, young Hobbit" he tells him.
"I think it best you stop scaring my little cousin" I state annoyed as Merry returns with wood for the fire.
"Where's Frodo?" he asks making me look toward's Frodo's belongings. He was gone and as is Boromir. Aragorn told us Hobbits to stay put while he and the other two searched for the others. But of course we don't listen. I was looking with Merry and Pippin when Uruk's appear. We hide in a bush.
When Merry shouts Frodo's name, Pippin and I turn to see Frodo hiding on the opposite side of the trail. As the uruks appear. Pippin and Merry run out of hiding and start to lure them away. Leaving me with a tough decision to make, stay with my little brother or help our cousin. 'They need you more then me, I will be fine' he mouths to me.
'Do not go alone and return to me alive' I mouth back before running after the other two taking a short cut. Shooting uruks with my bow and arrows. "Hurry, run you idiots!" I shout as I join them.
We soon run across an old stone bridge. At its far end, we stop and see Uruk-hai running towards us. The Uruks are closing in, from both the front and the back. An Uruk runs up to us, raising his battleaxe as I go for my knife. But Boromir comes charging in, knocks the Uruk back, and kills it with his own axe.
The four of us continue to run killing Uruk along the way. Soon Boromir sounds his horn calling the others to help. But it also alerted the enemy to our location and they were closer then our friends. Merry and Pippin stabs orcs with their new daggers while Boromir tells the three of us to run. When I notice a bow uruk pointing an arrow at him. "Boromir look out!" I shout.
But it was to late, the arrow got him in the left shoulder making him stumble back as the uruk reloads his bow. I'd shoot back, but I ran out of arrows. Boromir begins to breathe hard as the uruks come closer. Merry and Pippin throwing stones at them. When Boromir gives a battle cry rises to his feet and swings his sword at one, who falls.
Another black arrow flies into Boromir's stomach. He drops to his knees again, gasping. He looks into our eyes.He gets back up again and swings his sword at another Uruk. The bow uruk shoots him one more time, in the chest. Boromir falls on his knees and stays there, swaying a little. His horn is cloven in two. Merry and Pippin grab their daggers again as the three of us charge the uruks. But we're disarmed and carried away by the uruks as the bow uruk raises his bow again pointing an arrow at Boromir's head.
(After the battle) Third Person
Aragorn killed the bow uruk, but Boromir died after telling him and the other two. That the uruks had taken Freya and the two little ones. Gimli swore in dwarfish cursing them. They put Boromir to rest before the other two look at Aragorn. "Frodo's fate is no longer in our hands" he states.
"Then fellowship has failed" Gimli says gloomily.
"Not if we hold true to each other. We will not abandon Freya, Merry and Pippin to torment and death. Not while we have strength left" Aragorn tells them. "Leave all that can be spared behind. We travel light. Let us hunt some Orc!" he announces.
Legolas and Gimli look at each other, grinning."Yes haha! We're coming to save you Freya!" Gimli shouts. Aragorn runs into the woods, closely followed by Gimli and Legolas.
