Freya's POV
Frodo stands up from beside me and looks at the writing on the gateway. While I continue to read the healing book Lord Elrond had given me. It had been translated into the Western tongue. "It's a riddle" Frodo states. "Speak 'friend' and enter. What's the Elvish word for friend?" he asks.
"Mellon" I say absentmindedly. The stone doors slowly swing open, rumbling deeply. The others look at me in surprise. "What? Arwen taught me some elvish words" I state putting my book away. We enter Moria as Gandalf places a crystal into the top of his staff; Aragorn follows last.Moonlight floods into a shadowy chamber.
"Soon, Master Elf and Freya, you will enjoy the fabled hospitality of the Dwarves! Roaring fires, malt beer, ripe meat off the bone. This, my friend, is the home of my cousin, Balin" Gimli tells us.
"Sounds wonderful Gimli" I tell him smiling.Gandalf brings his hand around his staff, blowing upon the crystal and it begins to glow.
"And they call it a mine. A mine!" Gimli says happily.
"This is no mine, it's a tomb" Boromir states.Light reveals rotted, broken and battered forms strewn about, casting long shadows across the room. Gimli shouts 'no!' as Legolas planks an arrow form one of the bodies. He examines it and casts it away in disgust.
"Goblins" he tells us. Aragorn and Boromir draw out their swords. Legolas fits an arrow to his bow and I do the same.
"We make for the Gap of Rohan. We should never have come here" Boromir states. Frodo, Merry, Pippin and Sam back away towards the door. "Now get out of here, get out!" he shouts.
"Frodo!" I hear Merry, Pippin and Sam shout. Sam then shouts 'Strider!'. I turn to see the othersclutch at Frodo, attempting to keep him away from the water as more tentacles wrap around him. Thecreature at the gate releases Frodo, and feigns disappearance under the waters. Suddenly, many tentacles come out of the water, slapping the others aside and grabbing Frodo around the leg. He is pulled out over into the air.
"Frodo!" I shout and tighten the string on my bow and release it. It hits the tentacle wrapping around Frodo's face with Legolas' arrow.
"Strider!" Frodo shouts. Boromir and Aragorn rush to the water and attack the beast. It flings Frodo wildly in the air. Despite the our efforts, Frodo is lowered towards a gaping maw in the water, ringed by fangs, set in a gilled face.Aragorn slices through the tentacle holding Frodo, who falls into Boromir's arms.
Gandalf shouts telling us to go into the mine. We all get inside as the entrance collapses on the creature. Then we start to make our way through the mine quietly. Got a little lost, then came across Balin's tomb. Gimli moans as Gandalf reads the last entry of a book beside the coffin. When Pippin suddenly knocked a skeleton into a well by accident. Gandalf scolded him as drums sounded.
Gandalf slowly turns back, and Pippin turns as well, staring down into the well. "Frodo!" Sam and I say. Who takes out 'Sting' and it was glowing blue.
"Orcs" Legolas states.Boromir rushes to the doors to have a look. Arrows hiss into the door near his face. Aragorn drops his torch and runs to Boromir.
"Get back! You stay close to Gandalf!" Aragorn shouts at us hobbits. The doors are shut, as a bellow can be heard just outside.
"They have a cave troll" Boromir states.Legolas tosses weapons to Boromir and Aragorn to blockade the door. The Fellowship draw out their weapons. Gandalf throws away his hat and pulls out his sword. Frodo, Merry, Pippin and Sam brandish their short-swords. While I take out my dagger. Gimli leaps atop Balin's tomb and brandishes his axe.
"Argh! Let them come! There is one dwarf yet in Moria who still draws breath!" Gimli shouts.Legolas and Aragorn stand poised, ready to shoot. The first clear gap is gashed in the door and Legolas shoots — a shrill cry rings out. Suddenly, the beasts break through and the battle begins. A wave of armor-clad Orcs charge towards the Fellowship, who engage the Orcs. Aragorn and Legolas pierce Orcs with their arrows while Boromir smashes another with his sword; Gimli catches one in the stomach. While I slice one orc's throat.
With a roar, Gandalf launches himself into the fray, and the other Hobbits follow. Sam loses his sword and starts to use a fry pan. Frodo and I end up cornered by the troll."Frodo! Freya!" Aragorn shouts.Aragorn tries to fight his way over to us.The troll blasts around the pillar, bellowing in Frodo's face. We stumble and fall into a corner. The troll grabs Frodo and drags him off of the edge of a recess.
"Aragorn! Freya!" Frodo shouts.
"Frodo!" Aragorn and I shout.Frodo slashes the troll's hand with Sting. The troll drops Frodo to the ground, twisting his injured hand and staring at it. Frodo lies on the floor. Aragorn stabs the troll with a spear and he bats him away.Frodo begins to run but the troll blocks Frodo's path with its spear, throwing him back. The troll takes aim and stabs Frodo in the chest with the spear.
Merry and Pippin glance at each other and their faces appear resolved. They look at me and the three of us jump onto the trolls back. We begin the stab it mercilessly. The troll flails at its head and grabs me, swinging me around and throwing me to the ground. The last thing I see is the other two stabbing it's head as it opens its mouth. An arrow is shoot into it as I black out.
