"Lass, are you alright?" Gimli asks shaking Freya. But she doesn't wake. Frodo rushed over to them, worried about his older sister. Gandalf places a hand to her head and mutters something.

"She is fine, just unconscious. Someone will have to carry her, we can't stay here" he states. In the end Gimli picks her up.The Fellowship runs out the chamber into a hall of pillars. The Fellowship is closely pursued by an army of Orcs. Other Orcs spring out from the floor or crawl, like spiders, from the ceiling and down the pillars. They surround the Fellowship, who have drawn their weapons outward in a circle. Gimli in the middle holding Freya surrounded by the other hobbits.

A fiery light appears at the end of a hall followed by a thunderous rumble. The Orcs flee in all directions. Gimli laughs, thinking he has scared off the Orcs. The Fellowship are left alone. The weary wizard stares down the hall."What is this new devilry?" Boromir asks aloud.

"A Balrog — a demon of the ancient world" Gandalf tells him. The thing growls, still hidden around a corner of the vast hall, throwing fiery light on the pillars. Legolas's eyes show fear."This foe is beyond any of you... Run!" Gandalf shouts.

The Fellowship enters a passageway and goes down a flight of steps. The flight ends in a missing segment, and Boromir nearly falls but Legolas pulls him back. His torch whirls away into the vast underworld beneath. "Gandalf?" Aragorn asks.

"Lead them on, Aragorn! The bridge is near!" Gandalf tells him and he doesn't move. "Do as I say, swords are no more use here" Gandalf states. The Fellowship descends massive stairs and encounters a gap in the stairs. Legolas leaps and lands on the other side.Gandalf jumps over next, then Boromir with Merry and Pippin.

"Gimli, give me Freya" Aragorn says and Gimli does so. "Legolas, Boromir" he calls and they look up. "Catch" he says and tosses Freya, Legolas catches her and passes her to the two hobbits. Aragorn then throws Sam over, who is caught by Boromir.Aragorn reaches to pick up Gimli who holds his hand up.

"No one, tosses a dwarf" he states before jumping. Henearly falls back into the chasm, but Legolas grabs his beard and pulls him up."Not Beard!" he shouts and Freya starts to stir.

"What happened? Where's Frodo?" she asks as Sam helps her sit up. She hears large stones falling and looks up to see Aragorn push Frodo to safety. They climb to their feet and look at the now widened gap that separates them from the rest of the Fellowship. "Frodo, Strider!" she shouts standing up and Sam steadys her. "You have to jump" she tells them.

A huge rock falls from the ceiling and smashes through the steps behind Aragorn and Frodo, creating another gap behind them. The stairs begin to wobble. Aragorn tells Frodo to hold on and lean forward. They shift their weight forward, tipping the stairs across the divide and slamming them onto the steps where their companions are. They leap across to safety. They run down the stairs as the stone structures collapse behind them.

Once they were off the stairs they ran towards the bridge. Freya staying close to Aragorn and her little brother.A wall of flame whirls behind them as they reach the bridge. The others flee across the bridge, while Gandalf stops half way and turns to face the wall of fire."You cannot pass!" Gandalf shouts and the others turn to look at him.

"Gandalf!" Freya and Frodo shout.

"I am the servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the Flame of Anor. The dark fire will not avail you! Flame of Udûn!" Gandalf shouts. The Balrog strikes down on Gandalf, who parries the blow with his blade, shattering the Balrog's sword. Glowing embers run off the circle of light around the wizard. The monster bellows at the wizard.

"Go back to the Shadow!" Gandalf tells the Barlog who now brandishes a whip of fire.Gandalf raises his sword and staff together into the air shouting."You shall not pass!" Hedrives his staff into the bridge, causing a bright flash of blue light to appear. Flaring its nostrils, the Balrog steps forward onto the bridge.

The bridge collapses from under it as it moves towards Gandalf, and breaks before the wizard's staff. The demon plunges backward into the chasm, still wielding its glowing whip. Gandalf, exhausted, leans on his staff and watches the Balrog fall. He turns to follow the others a flaming whip grabbed him by the ankle. And drags him over the edge.

He clings onto the bridge but strains to keep his grip. Frodo rushes forward but Boromir restrains him."No, no!" Boromir shouts as he and Legolas hold the two hobbit siblings. As they shout Gandalf's name.

"Fly, you fools!" Gandalf tells them before letting go on the edge.

"NO!" Freya and Frodo shout in anguish. Boromir grabs hold of Frodo and starts to leave up a flight of stairs. Legolas doing the same with Freya. The rest of the Fellowship flied the mine. Once outside Frodo and Freya go a little away from the others as they cry over losing Gandalf.
