Chapter 01 - Disastrous Encounter

Friday, July 02, 1971.

Six pm.

Helena got into Ryan's car and sat in the backseat of the vehicle.

- Good afternoon Alicia, good afternoon Ryan - She smiled at them.

"Good afternoon, my friend." Alicia grinned.

- Good afternoon Lena - Ryan smiled - And you girls, are you ready to attend the presentation of the band of my friend , Brian May at the University of Surrey ?

"Of course we're my cousin," Alicia smiled again. "I'm really looking forward to seeing the band.

- How many tickets did the guys from the band put to sell anyway? Alice asked.

"There were 120 tickets," Ryan said. "It's the amount of people capacity that will fit in the University auditorium where they will perform. But so far only 80 tickets have been sold. And they also said they would bring popcorn and orange juice to give the people there to watch them.

- What's the name of the band? Helena smiled. " It's a funny name I do not remember."

- Smile. It's the name of the band - Smiled Ryan - But they want to change their name, because, Smile was in the time of the other bass player, Tim Staffell, but, now there is a new bass player named John Deacon and they want to change the name of the band, they argue a lot because of that ep ior the names they want are weird. Roger, the drummer of the band insists that the band is called The Conish Tour or else '' The Legendary Drummer of Cornwall Roger Taylor and Queen ''. - Ryan said laughing.

- Wow - Said Helena looking at her camera - Roger, the drummer he is very convinced, do not you think? He wants to choose the name of the band, but, he wants the highlight just for him, therefore, is the legendary drummer of Cornwall. Is it my impression or does the drummer in question already have bouts of starvation? I know he's played a band in Truro, called The Reactions, and he's become a legend in the city, but I think his arrogance is too much, that's because I do not know him personally, yet - Helena said thoughtfully.

"Roger's a really nice guy, Helena, do not worry," Ryan smiled.

"They're all nice, I suppose," Alice smiled.

"Roger just wants to be the center of attention, at least for a moment. He's been through a lot of family issues in the past, which I do not know in detail, and that's a profound mark on him, "Ryan said. - As for Freddie, he wants the name of the band called Queen.

"Queen sounds much better," Helena said. "It's a universal, short name.

Ryan is friends with Brian May, the two have known each other since the time of physics faculty at Imperial College and now they are studying PH D in Astrophysics at the same university.After an hour's drive, they arrived at the University of Surrey and Ryan parks the car in the University parking lot and Alicia and Helena accompany him to the auditorium the band will perform. They handed the ticket to the security guard and then there were three girls giving orange juice and popcorn to whoever arrived.

- Girls, good night. This is my cousin Alicia, and this is Helena, my cousin's friend. They came to watch the band's performance, "Ryan said.

The three girls smiled and introduced themselves. There was Mary, Chrissy, and Veronica. Mary is Freddie's girlfriend, Chrissy is Brian's girlfriend and Veronica is John's girlfriend. The three of them welcomed Alicia and Helena. Ryan asked for Josephine, Roger's girlfriend and the girls said she had not gone to attend the presentation of the band. They reported that the boys had already arrived and were already in the dressing room to get ready. Then Alicia and Helena entered the auditorium with Ryan and sat in the first row of benches, next to the small stage.
