~Crescent's POV~

It has been a week since my first day of college.

Monday again..

The day I have to sing the song with James in front of glaring girls. Great. I turned over on my side to look at my alarm clock. Five? In the morning? Why did I wake up this early? I groaned and buried my face in my pillow, wide awake.

I decided to go ahead and fix my hair. If I have to sing in front of the class, I want to be confident. I put my hair in tiny curls all over my head, showing how thick my hair is. I brushed a bit of make up on my face and got dressed in a teal shirt with layers, white shorts, and teal sandals. By the time I was finished getting ready it was eight.

"Scarlet!" I sang through the apartment.

"What?" She asked groggily.

"Time to get up." I laughed.

"Fine. Can you curl my hair in ringlets? I'd do it but I'll do my make up instead." She laughed.

"Why? You have a natural beauty. You don't need make up." I laughed

"You think so? I don't know I just want to feel comfortable around those preps." She sighed.

"You look fine." I smiled "but I will curl your hair if you're still up for it." "Yeah." She said sitting on the bench in front of my mirror.

I curled her hair in a half an hour. "There ya go." I said spraying the last black ringlet with hair spray. "Thanks." She mumbled walking back to her room.

I packed everything into my bag for school and grabbed my guitar. I am playing the higher guitar part while James is playing the low. I'm really excited but nervous so my stomach feels like a zoo.

"Time to go Cress!" Scarlet yelled from the living room. "I'm coming!" I yelled back "why are you in such a hurry today anyway?" "I'm not." She argued but then laughed "come onnnnn."

"I said I'm comingggg." I laughed walking into the living room. We walked to the campus, although Scar sped ahead of me a bit. Whether she admits it or not, she's excited to see Robert. It took me almost ten minutes to get to the classroom. Everyone was in kind of a panic.

Nervous I guess.

"Crescent." Said a squeaky voice behind me. I spun around on my heels to see a thin brunette glaring at me. I'd never seen her before.. Maybe in the auditorium the first morning here.. She was all over James.

"What?" I asked, not in the mood for this. "Just wanted to chat." She said in a quieter voice. She looked around to make sure no one else was in the classroom.

Before I knew what was happening her fist connected with my jaw. She grabbed my right arm and pulled me down. "If you know what's good for you, you'll stay away from him." She hissed.

Yes, I'm very fit and strong. But bullying makes me panic and kind of freeze. I can't react. My childhood left a scar on me that will never fade. However, there is a time when a person becomes fed up.

I stood up, glared at her, and pulled my arm away from her grasp.I flipped her off as I walked away to put my bags down. The girl rushed out of the room.

After I had taken a seat, James walked into the room. He dropped his bags when he saw me and rushed over to me. He kneeled down in front of my chair so he was closer to my height. "Cress.." He whispered as his fingers traced my jaw line.

I let out a small whimper as his finger brushed over the bruise. His eyes became stern. "Who did this?" He asked urgently.

"Some girl." I said letting my head drop into the palms of my hands, to hide the tears welling up.
