~Crescent's POV~
I woke up with chocolate smeared on my face and Scarlet's face under my sprawled out foot on the couch. I walked to the bathroom and scrubbed the dried stuff off. "Scarlet you need to wake up." I called through the apartment.
"I don't wanna." She whined rolling over on the couch.
"But you have to." I stated before closing the door and stepping into the shower. I turned on the cold water to wake me up and did a little dance while screaming because it was so cold. After I had adjusted the water to warm, I scrubbed shampoo and conditioner through my hair. I rinsed the soaps out of my hair and grabbed a towel off the wrack to dry myself off with. I walked into my room, wrapped in the towel.
I heard the door of the bathroom creak on it's hinges as Scarlet went into the bathroom. I put on denim shorts, a white tank top, and grey sneakers. I put on a grey jacket and zipped it up to my chest, so the white tank top was hidden. I put on a small silver necklace that said 'stay strong' in cursive letters. I glanced over to see my mamaw's picture on my dresser.. If I could only talk to her now. Cancer took her life two years ago.
I wiped a tear and went to my mirror to dry my hair. After drying it, I curled it slightly and put on a little make up. I looked like crap yesterday, so I need to try today. I grabbed my bag and walked back to the living room. "Scar it's time to go!" I yelled.
"I'm coming calm down." She laughed walking back into the living room. We headed to Uni without saying anything. We both felt like crap, and that was easy to tell just by looking at us. We parted ways when we got to the campus and I braced myself for what the day had in store for me.
I stopped right outside the classroom and took a deep breath before slowly opening the door and walking in.
Calum was in the back corner looking over a music sheet. Some other guy, Mike, in the class was writing the days assignment on the board. Calum stared at me like I had two heads when I walked in. "Hey Crescent. Come here a second." Mike smiled. I walked over to him and looked at him confused. "I just wanted to see your beauty up closer." Mike smiled again showing his sparkling white teeth.
Just as I was about to respond, Calum threw down the papers he was holding and stormed out of the room. I bit my lip and walked back to my seat. Calum ended up coming back into the room with puffy eyes right before class started. Had he been crying? Girls fell all over him. Cooing to him and trying to comfort him. He just brushed them off and stared down at his desk.
Finally the bell rang releasing us to lunch and I rushed out the door before he could get to me. I went through the line and got a tuna salad and a water. I went to the table Scar and I usually sit at to find a table of preps.
"Uh, this is my seat?" I questioned.
"Nope. It's not. Your little friend tried to put up a fight but we obviously outnumbered her." said the blonde one that made fun of me the second day here.
"Where's Scarlet?" I asked sternly getting frustrated.
"In the bathroom." She shrugged. I dropped my plate of food and ran to the bathroom to find Scarlet slumped up against the wall with a bloody nose. I ran cold water over a paper towel and wrung it out before putting it below her nose to stop the blood. "What did they do?" I asked as furry started to course through my system.
"The blonde punched me." She whimpered "so then I fell out of shock and they all started kicking me." She starting crying out in pain and grabbing at her stomach.
"Come on. We're taking you to the nurse. It's probably just going to bruise but who knows what they could have hit." I sighed putting my hand out to her. She put her hand in mine and I pulled her up. It was hard trying to get her to the nurse because every movement hurt her.
