~Scarlet's POV~

The bell rang for me to go to lunch. I was absolutely starving and not eating breakfast didn't help my case. I was just worrying about Crescent so much, I forgot my own needs. It's not natural for all of the stuff that has been happening to her to just be her period. No one bloats that bad before a period without her having a thyroid problem.

I quickly went thorough the lunch line, trying to avoid everyone from taking my seat. I didn't want to have to sit by the trash cans. They smell like no one has changed the bags in five years. My feet shuffled along the tiled floors as I made it safely, to my lunch table. Crescent still hadn't made it down to the cafeteria so it made me feel very uneasy. "Is this seat taken, miss?" I could recognize that voice ten thousand miles away.

Luke.

I spun around in my seat and wrapped my arms around his thin torso. Luke had to bend down to reach my body but I don't care. I missed him so much and he hadn't been gone for a day. "I see you missed me as much as I missed you." He softly chuckled, releasing his grip. His lanky legs traveled over to the empty seat right across from me.

"How did you manage to be here? Aren't you supposed to be on tour?" I questioned, curiosity getting the best of me.

Luke sent a small smirk in my direction before answering. "They found another opening act to replace us, since we had some official business back here in the states."

"And what would the official business be?" My eyebrows furrowed together in thought.

"Spending time with my girlfriend is the official business."

A big grin broke out on my face as I leaned across the table to give him a quick kiss. He gladly returned the gesture and placed his hands along my cheeks. I softly hummed against his lips until there was a loud grumble. We broke apart to see Crescent and Calum staring back at us.

"Done sucking face?" Calum teased.

The artificial grass ran along the bottom of my softball cleats as I dug them into the mat. I quickly adjusted home plate so I could line myself up properly. My arms were beginning to ache from swinging the bat continuously for the past two hours.

Dad was finally home for once, so him and Sam offered to train me over winter break so I can be ready for spring tryouts. Thankfully, downtown there was an indoor baseball facility used for training. It was completely empty with the exception of us and the few workers, considering Christmas was just last week.

"I'm going to run out real quick and turn on the car to get it warmed up. No need for you to get sick over break." Dad said, walking out the door.

Sam walked over to the pitcher's mound and prepared himself. "Alright, one more at bat then we can go home and go sledding." He smiled brightly. He maybe nineteen years old, but he acts just like a five year old. I nodded excitedly, but put my mindset back on hitting the ball.

He swung his leg up and threw a curveball. I took a quick step and swung the bat as hard as I could manage. There went the crack of the bat and that's when it all went wrong.

I slung myself out of bed and ran straight out onto the balcony. The chilly wind was swirling around me as I slid down the glass door. I wrapped my arms around my torso, trying to circulate the heat throughout my body. I hope I didn't wake Luke or anyone else up. The boys stayed in our living room while Luke slept in my room with me. Not frickle frackling, you dirty people.

I hadn't noticed I was crying till the tears started rolling onto my slightly chapped lips. My chin kept trembling from the cold and crying. There was a quiet knock on the door, making me turn around to see who was standing there. Luke and Michael. I moved away so they could come out here.
