*~Crescent's POV~*

I woke up to someone softly pushing my hair off of my face. "Wake up babe." Calum softly cooed in my ear. I opened my eyes to find myself right up against Calum, my lips against his neck. I looked around and recognized the hospital lobby. I had forgotten. "Your mom and your dad all went home last night apparently. Woke up and they weren't here" he yawned.

"Oh my god." I muttered.

"What?" He asked confused.

"We fell asleep together.. My dad must know." I sighed rubbing my forehead. I got up and walked over to a pay phone. I had left my cell phone at our house yesterday. I put in a quarter and dialed the home phone. "Hey mom, can I talk to dad?" I asked.

"Actually he just left on his way there. Brace yourself." She sighed.

"Oh great." I laughed breathlessly.

"I told him he's acting ridiculous but he didn't listen. When he saw you and Calum last night he lost it." She said quietly.

"Okay. I've gotta go. I love you." I whispered, suddenly terrified of my dad's arrival.

"Love you too." She said. The phone line clicked and we were no longer connected. I went back to Arden's room and discovered Scarlet sitting at her mother's bedside, holding her hand. Scar's head rested on Arden's stomach.

"Hi." I said softly. Her head shot up immediately.

"Hi, Cress." She said trying to smile. Poor thing. Her hair was stuck to her face from tears. I walked over and brushed it off her face. I handed her a tissue and she dabbed the tears from her face. "She doesn't even know I'm here." She sobbed.

"I'm sure she does." I rubbed her back supportingly. There was a long silence where I just stared at Arden. The familiar pain came to my stomach. Just like when Scar's brother died. He was like my brother. Arden is my second mommy. I felt eyes on me from the door.

"Can you sing to her?" Scarlet asked, bringing me out of my thoughts. I almost lost it. Arden told me a few years ago that if she was ever dying in the hospital, she wanted me to sing to her before she left. I bit my lip so hard that I started to taste blood.

"Of course." I whimpered, sitting across from Scarlet, at the left of Arden's bed. "What song?" I asked quietly.

"Do you remember that lullaby from The Hunger Games?" She sniffed.

"The one I used to sing at to cancer kids when I volunteered at the hospital several years ago?" I asked, trying to remember the lyrics.

"Yeah. That one." She sobbed, falling back to her mother's lap.

"Okay." I said quietly.

"Deep in the meadow,
under the willow,
A bed of grass,
A soft green pillow,
Lay down your head,
And close your sleepy eyes,
When again they open,
The sun will rise,
Here it's safe,
Here it's warm,
Here the Daisy's guard you,
from every harm,
Here your dreams are sweet,
And tomorrow brings them true,"

I stopped for a few seconds to collect myself a little bit. Instead of singing, it had started to come out as a weak whisper. I somehow managed to choke the last bit out. "Here's the place where I love you." I couldn't help myself anymore. I threw my arms around Arden. "Wake up, please" I sobbed into my second mother's chest. "Please for god's sake wake up. We need you."

I felt a pair of strong arms picking me up off of her. They managed to pull me off of her and got me out the door. I had started struggling against the arms holding me back and I was on the verge of screaming. I was put back down to the floor but the arms continued to wrap around me.

"Shhhhh." Calum whispered. "I saw the whole thing. That was beautiful." I just stood and let him hold me. His support was the only thing keeping me from falling to the floor.

"Crescent." My dad's voice spoke.

I looked up to see him with his arms folded. I could tell Calum was terrified of my father. Just like when I met his mom. "Dad look-" I started but he put up a hand to stop me.

"I came here to yell at you. I came here to yell at Calum. I wanted to forbid this. When I got here, I watched you in the hospital room with Arden, then I watched the way Calum reacted. Seeing you two together has completely changed my mind. It's just hard letting my little girl go. Take care of her, Calum. I'm trusting that you will." My dad nodded. I ran over to my dad and almost tackled him in a hug.

"Thank you." I whispered.

"I trust you. I also trust him. But you're always going to be my baby girl. Don't forget it." He said before kissing my forehead. My dad went back to a chair in the lobby and sat down to read a book he had brought with him. I walked back over to Calum and wrapped my arms around him.

"Worried for nothing." He laughed nervously.

"It was almost something." I pointed out. I heard a shriek come from Arden's room. Scarlet. Luke bolted from his seat and ran into the room. I gabbed ahold of Calum and buried my face in his chest, muffling my tears and shaking body. He held me as tightly as possible and I felt hot tears on my neck, where his face was nuzzled.

"Her heart stopped! Someone help me!" Scarlet screamed in a gut wrenching tone.

I felt my world get blurry. Not one clear thought was going through my mind. I started shaking and sobbing uncontrollably, unable to catch my breath. "Luke she's going to die." Scarlet screamed "someone fucking help her!" A bunch of nurses and doctors ran in. The closed Arden's door and all I could hear was beeping and buzzing noises. Someone yelled something about getting Arden into surgery immediately. Someone else was still screaming.

I felt my legs give in and someone pull me back up, before the world faded from my sight.
