~Scarlet's POV~

I shot out of bed, my phone ringing out lyrics to 'Best I Ever Had' by Gavin DeGraw. Luke groaned as loud as he could and searched around the room with me, trying to find my blaring phone. "Found it." He stated, lifting up one of our pillows. A picture of Anna-Marie and Kalia was popping up on my phone, underneath the time. "It's literally 2:00 in the morning." I grumbled, before sliding the answer button.

"Good afternoon!" Anna happily chirped. Even though it's way too early for me into even function, hearing her little voice does make me ecstatic.

"Well it's two in the morning over here but good afternoon miss Anna and Kalia." I whispered. I didn't want to wake Michael up because they have been up early and going to bed late. I walk out on the balcony so I can talk to the girls and let the boys sleep.

"Anna give me the phone!" Kalia exclaimed. I heard a bunch of squeals and the phone being transferred to Kalia. "We got adopted Scarlet!"

Tears welled up in my eyes, happy tears of course, as Anna and Kalia cheered in the background. "I'm very proud of you girls. Whenever Crescent and I get back, we'll definitely have to meet your new family." I smiled, even though my voice cracked a bit at the end. What if their new family doesn't allow the girls to visit us? I shook my head at the horrid thought, trying to be positive for these girls.

"They are such lovely people! We are going to have a step-sister Lacy!" My heart stopped at the name. I'm sure it can't be her. Right? "She is really great and our new parents are so nice! They are really rich but you couldn't tell if you based it off their personalities, they are so generous." Kalia gushed. You can tell she is happy to be loved by this so-called loving family.

"Sissy, let me talk to Scar-Scar!" Anna whined.

You could hear muffled talking in the background as Kalia passed the phone back to her sister. I held my hand over my mouth to choke back my sobs. I couldn't be any happier for these girls, they need to be loved so much but I just hope it's not the Lacy I know of..

"Aren't you happy for us?" Anna-Marie inquired. Shoot, she must've heard me crying.

"I'm very happy baby. You girls deserve this so much. I have to get some sleep, but we'll be back soon." I sighed. I have been trying to calm myself down, but the more I think about not seeing them makes me begin hiccuping.

"Okay, are you sleepy?" She asked, then added "We love you Scar-Scar and Cressy."

"Yeah, I've had a busy day. I'll let you go. Cress and I love you girls very, very much!" I exclaimed, hanging up quickly before I let myself breakdown. I know I shouldn't be reacting like this. These girls have being living in hell long enough, but I wish I was there to meet the family. I sat down in one of the wired chairs setting on our balcony, overlooking Amsterdam.

I laid my head down on the table, covering my face with my arms. I would seriously be incomplete without these girls in my life. Granted they have only been in my life for three months, I just have grown so attached to them. I must've been so caught up in my pity party, that I didn't hear the glass doors slide open and close.

"What's wrong babe?" Luke questioned.

I shook my head, and began wiping the tears off of my face. I hate being seen crying, especially over something that I don't need to cry over. The girls need this. At least that's what I keep telling myself. "Kalia and Anna-Marie were adopted." I weakly smiled.

"Well that's great! Why are you crying?" He lifted me off the chair and sat me down on his lap. I turned so I was able to face him, his tired eyes holding so much confusion and concern.
