~Crescent's POV~

*A week and a half later*

I woke up to the sound of Scarlet's phone ringing. "Yeah. Today will work. How's noon at the community park? Okay good. See you then." She yawned.I sat up and rubbed my face, working out the tight feeling that my defining lotion left. The past week has been absolute torture. I'm not sure how much longer Scarlet and I can keep going without the boys.

"We're meeting Anna-Marie and her sister in the park at noon to have lunch." Scarlet yelled through the quiet apartment. I nodded and then realized she can't see me.

"Okay." I called back. I checked my phone to see no missed alerts. I'm so used to having texts from Calum and the other boys that it almost caused me to cry. The whole morning was basically just spent with Scar and I trying to motivate ourselves to look decent. It wasn't working well.

"Ready?" Scarlet finally asked, grabbing the keys off the hook on the wall.

"Ready." I sighed. I got in the passenger seat and Scarlet drove us to the community park.

"There she is!" Scarlet exclaimed, pointed at a little girl with light red hair and an older girl across the park. I grabbed the picnic basket from the floorboard. We got out of the car and subconsciously tried to hide our faces. Not that we think we'd get mobbed, it's just become a habit. "Hi!" Scarlet smiled giving the two girls small hugs. They both said hi and then turned to me.

"You must be Calum's girlfriend." Anna-Marie smiled.

"Yeah. You can call me Cress though, if you'd like." I smiled back.

"You guys are a lot nicer than I would think." The older sister, Kaila, smiled.

"Well, I guess you could say we've been through a lot lately so being mean is the last thing on our minds." Scarlet laughed.

I reached into the picnic basket to pull out the blanket and spread it down on the ground over the light green grass. With the help of the others, we set up the meal. Sandwiches, fruit, water, and cookies. "So what's it like? Being with Luke and Calum." Kaila asked, covering her mouth as she continued to chew her food.

"Pretty normal." Scarlet laughed "well, before all of the fans entered the picture."

"Wow." Kaila smiled.

"So what about you guys?" I asked "how are your lives?"

"Well.. We live in an orphanage where there isn't much food. We hardly eat because all of the other girls get there before us, and I give what's left of mine to Anna." Kaila sighed.

"That's awful." I whispered, realizing that it's hard all around. I'm not the only one who's had to go through stuff.. I'm not alone. I zoned out, thinking about what Calum might be doing at the moment. While I was in la la land, I happened to be scanning the park. I was pulled out of the trance when I noticed a huge group of fans coming straight at us.

"Scarlet." I whispered nudging her arm.

"Wha- oh no. Not now." She grumbled, pulling her hoodie up.

"I'm sorry that we have to end this lovely lunch, but we have some fans coming. We'll have to meet again soon!" I smiled giving Anna-Marie and Kaila small goodbye hugs.

"CRESCENT SCARLET." Some girls in the group screamed. I handed Anna and Kaila the picnic basket, still over half full with food.

"Take it. We have a lot more in our apartment where that came from." I smiled before turning away to walk to the car. I would adopt those girls in a heartbeat if I could. Before we could reach the car door, half of the group of girls stood in our way. They were screaming our faces. Some were fangirling and others were cussing us out.

"Scarlet what do we do?" I whispered.

"I'm thinking." She whispered back.

Two girls stepped out of the group. One was short with brown hair, blue eyes, and looked about thirteen. The other was dirty blonde with blue eyes and she looked about fifteen."Who do you think you are?" The dirty blonde hissed "stealing our future husbands."

You've got to be kidding me.

"Yeah exactly. You're ugly, fat, and stupid." The one with the brown hair said. This can't get more childish. Scarlet and I just stood there kind of shocked. How do you even respond to that? It's immature and pointless.

"Is it true that you almost killed yourself from excessive bullying?" The brunette laughed. I gulped. How could she possibly know that? Scarlet and a girl I used to go to school with are the only two people that knew.. And I know Scar wouldn't say anything.

"Something about taking a lot of pills. Almost killed you but you failed at it. Wish it would've worked." The dirty blonde smirked, noticing that they were touching a very sensitive subject.

I felt tears threatening to pour onto my cheeks.

The flashback of that night hit me.

The rain pouring down my bedroom window. I had locked the door and laid down on the floor. I took the pills and swallowed them quickly. I laid there for a few minutes before I drifted off to sleep. I woke up in a hospital connected to a bunch of machines and my mom sobbing beside me. That was the night I changed myself. I started losing weight and getting my life back on track.

Scarlet nudged me to pull me from my trance.

"Leave her alone! She's beautiful and you're just jealous!" One of the girls spoke up from the group standing by. After that, the rest joined in. Defending Scar and I. They all formed a wall to our car so we could hurry and get in before getting bombarded again.

"Cress.." Scarlet started.

"I'm fine Scar." I snapped.

"Okay." She sighed.

"I'm sorry. It's just hard knowing that people have that information and that Calum will know soon if he doesn't already." I sighed. We didn't speak the rest of the ride home. When we got to the apartment I went straight to my room, wanting to sleep and not wake up. That mistake was so long ago and it's just now coming back to haunt me.

I walked over to my night stand and picked up my phone, seeing that I had seven missed calls from Calum and three texts.

'Babe are you okay?'

'I heard something today and I want to know if it's true.'

'Baby please answer'

I called him and bit my lip as it rang."Crescent?" He answered, sounding concerned.

"Hey." I sighed nervously.

"Cress I want you to be honest with me." He said sternly.

"Okay." I said quietly.

"Did you try to kill yourself a few years ago?" He asked quietly. There was a long pause, I could hear his heavy breathing on the other line.

"Yes." I sighed.

"Crescent.." He said slowly.

"Listen, I was young, immature, and wasn't thinking. I know how I shouldn't have tried to do it and I'm sorry. I can't go back and change it. I can't." I sobbed, unable to stop the tears.

"It's okay Crescent I just wanted to tell you that I love you. I need you and I just wanted to make sure you didn't feel like doing something like that again, because I can't lose you." He whispered.

"I love you too Calum." I replied quietly. "I'd love to talk forever but I need to sleep."

"Goodnight. Be safe." He said before hitting the end button. I laid my phone down and let gravity pull be down to my bed. I fell into a peaceful sleep, after crying for hours.
