AN: As you might have noticed, I tried my best to make a translation in English of the Tagalog language as much as I can so that my other readers can relate too. Hope it helped! And if ever I have an Arab reader out there, please correct me if I'm mistaken because I have also used Arabic language here.

P.S. Sneek Peek for the next chapter: That's the dress of Cassandra for their prom. Just saying ^^

Chapter 10

"Guys have you seen James lately?" Cassy asked her friends. They were at Mimi's house as usual, hanging out. They shook their heads. He has been acting weird for the past few weeks. James used to call her every night or every other night but after awhile he even stopped texting her. Their dates have been lessened, and even when he was with her, he seemed so distant. It was like she was losing him even though they've been together for months already.

She couldn't take it anymore. Cassy went out of the house and went to his house, deciding that she would finally confront him about it. She should have done it before but it scared her. She was afraid of what she might hear and may not hear that's why she tried to act blind and deaf for so long.

It was his mother who opened the door. Surprised registered on her face, "Oh my dear, what are you doing here?" she asked. "Uhm, anjan po ba si James?" Cassy asked politely. His mom shook her head, "Wala eh, may pinuntahan. Balik ka nalang mamaya ha? O di kaya, patawin ko lang siya sayo hija." (*Nope or nothing, he went somewhere. Just come back later okay? Or I'll just let him call you dear)

Cassy nodded, "Oh sige po" (*Okay. Po in tagalong is like a honorific that is being said to older people as a sign or respect or just simply to convey your respect for a person)  she was about to leave when she heard someone talking inside, she went nearer to the door to eavesdrop.

"Ma, ano po sinabe mo?" James asked. (*Ma, what did you say?)

"May pinuntahan ka. Bakit mo ba inaavoid? Kawawa naman yung bata." (*You went somewhere. Why are you avoiding her? Poor kid)

"Wala po." (*Nothing) he went inside his room.

Cassy felt anger rising inside her chest. She tried to think clearly. Instead she went home. Her mom was at CM's, checking up on their business while their father was at the embassy. CJ in the meantime was playing basketball with the guys like Kevin. She suddenly felt the house was too big for her even though there were maids there. Mahmod was also with her father since not only was he a driver but also a bodyguard at the same time.

She tried calling him for a dozen times but he didn't pick up the phone. She was staring to get really mad with him. She left eh house and marched towards his house, but this time he wasn't really there. She was so pissed off she decided to go for a long walk towards the co-op. (A small grocery store with small food chains in it)

She bought chocolate mousse from the Baskin Robbins, her favourite comfort food. She was about go home when she saw a familiar figure having an argument with one whole gang. She told herself to mind her own business but Cassy couldn't help but be drawn to them. Base on the scene, the guy was the one provoking the gang to fight with him. They just ignored him. The guy got pissed off he suddenly kicked one of the guy from the gang in the face, that incited a huge fight.
