Chapter 09 (An addictive monthsary)

"Luv nasa school ka na?" (so you're at school already?) James asked through the phone.

"Oo" (Yep)

"Nasa classroom ka na?" (You're in your room?)

Cassy frowned, "Totoo ano nakain mo ha? Bakit ba?" (Really what did you eat for breakfast today? What's up with you?)

"Punta ka na sa classroom mo ha?" (Go to your classroom ha?)

"Yeah, yeah!" she headed towards her room. She almost dropped her phone when she saw his drawing.

She was on a grocery cart as he leaned towards her for a kiss on the cheeks. "Hmm, I guess you saw it na huh?" he said. "Yep!"

"Well goodmorning Luv. Happy 3rd monthsary!"

She was touched.

     On their 3rd month together, she planned they'd have dinner in her favourite restaurant-TGIF Fridays. But knowing James he really did touched her with his simple gifts but very thoughtful gifts. Not only did he draw on their classroom's blackboard, he drew on every room of their school. "Happy 3rd Monthsary, my love!" she smiled, putting the phone down when their teacher arrived.

     During recess, mara went to their table. "Hey Cassandra! Happy 3rd monthsary to you guys girl!" she cheerfully greeted. "Thank you ate Mara" Cassy smiled. "Uhm, not to be rude or anything, pero diba college ka na?" (pero " " - but aren't you in college already?)

  Mara nodded, "It's my free time. Na miss ko kase yung school natin. Kaya I paid a visit to my dearest Alma Mater. Then I heard monthsary niyo daw ni James?" Cassy nodded. "Kaya congrats!" she said. "Salamat ate." (I miss our school so I paid a visit to my dearest Alma Mater. Then I heard it's your monthsary today with James?)

"By the way, I'm having a party at my house mayang gabi, daan kayo ah?" (mayang " " -later this night / Daan kayo- drop by okay?)

Cassy nodded, "Sige po ba." (Okay sure!)

"Ikaw din Helen, isama mo narin si Kevin." (You too Helen, bring Kevin along)

Helen sighed, "Try po. Ang layo kase ng house niyo saakin eh." (Okay I'll try. My house is too far from your house though)

Mara understood, "K lang. Swing by if y'all free! Hugs and kisses!" she left.

"Oh san tayo punta?"  (So where we going?) James asked. It was after school.

     "Hmm, puwede daan muna tayo kay Ate Mara? Nag invite kase siya eh. Kahit mabilis lang. Nakapag promise na kase ako." (Can we drop by ate Mara's place for awhile? She invited us awhile ago. Even it would be quick! It's because I promised to her that I would go)

His face darkened, "Sige, sige." (okay)

   She put her arms around his, "Wag na sungit ah? After magpakita tayo sakanya, date na tayo. Tutal 9 PM pa naman curfew ko eh." (Don't be such a grouch ha? After showing ourselves to her, let's have our date! Besides my curfew is still in 9 PM so it's okay)

He started smiling again, "Sige na nga." (okay fine)

     It was a wild party. The music was blaring off the roof as the drinks overflowed. Everyone was dancing to the music. "Hay naku! Si Mara talaga." James mumbled. Mara went through the crowd and hugged Cassy, "Glad you guys could come!"

     James, Chuck and Mara were supposed to be batch mates ever since they were kids, but since James was too focus on his extra'curricular things, he repeated a year. So now Mara was ahead of him. James' phone rang. It was his mother. He had to come home for awhile. "Oh damn Cass, uwi muna ako ng sandali ha?" (Cass I'll go home for awhile okay?)
