Jenna:
I was finally on my way back to the States. I had to stay in Australia for a whole month before I received my passport, plus the first flight I could get was a week later. None of that mattered now, I was going to be back with my fiery red head in an hour. She was waiting for me at the airport.
I hated being on planes for extended periods of time, all I could think about for the first hour after take off was plummeting in to the ocean and never being found, then I had to deal with the overly cramped seats that gave you no room for your arms or legs and to top it all off the food always made me sick, so I didn't eat it anymore and I was starving the whole flight.
I met up with Hayley at baggage claim after I had made it through customs. My heart skipped a few beats and I forgot to breath when I saw her. She looked sexy, she had cut her hair and dyed part of it blue, it made her seem a lot more edgy than the bob style she had before. Her face lit up when she caught sight of me.
"You're finally back!!!" Hayley screamed, making everyone around stare at her.
"Finally. I missed you so much!" I hollered back, turning every ones attention to me.
"I don't know if I'll ever let you leave the country again." she said jokingly
"That's fine as long as you stay here with me."
She stood on her tiptoes to kiss me. I leaned down to meet her soft lips.
A voice over the loud speaker announced that the bags from my flight were being unloaded. I grabbed mine. Then we headed to our house. We chatted a bit on the way home, but we didn't have too much to say since we had been talking everyday while I was in Australia.
I watched as the city turned to countryside to little town and finally home. It didn't really feel like home, I had barely spent anytime there before I went on tour. There wasn't really anywhere I considered home anymore, constantly being on the road, changing city made it difficult to feel like a place was home, I had started feeling like being with people made that feeling; right now that was what I felt with Hayley. It was a warm, cozy, safe feeling that filled me with serenity.
I was grabbing my suitcase from the trunk of the car when Hayley came up behind me and covered my eyes with a strip of cloth.
"How am I supposed to find my way to the house?"
"I'll lead you there. Trust me."
She steered me up the driveway and forgot to tell me about the step up to the door, my shin painfully hit the cement block, causing tears to well up in my eyes.
"Ow! I thought you said I could trust you?"
"Sorry"
Once inside Hayley untied the blindfold to reveal a room full of people.
"SURPRISE!!!" They yelled.
Their loud scream startled me. I really wasn't expecting it. I don't know what I thought Hayley was trying to hide from me, but that was not it. When I had gotten over the initial shock, I started laughing.
Almost everyone I knew was there, or at least everyone I knew that lived in the U.S.: all of Paramore, The Used, We Are the In Crowd, Icon for Hire, Pierce the Veil and All Time Low. Plus Hayley had invited some friends of her own: Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco and VersaEmerge were there too.
Everyone split up into small groups and started talking. Tay came over and gave me a big hug.
"Glad you're back." she said with a smile that quickly faded "We need to talk about something"
"What's wrong?"
Tay was about to speak when Hayley arrived.
"Never mind" Tay mumbled before walking over to Sierra's group.
"What was that about?" Hayley asked
"I don't know." I replied puzzled
"So did I surprise you?"
"No. I was expecting a bunch of people to be waiting in my house." I said sarcastically
I tried to stay awake as long as possible and talk with everyone, but it was too hard to do since I hadn't had a goodnight's sleep in 48 hours; I fell asleep on the couch long before the guests left.
When I woke in the morning Hayley was curled up behind me, fast asleep and I had 3 texts from Tay.
#1
Jenna we really need to talk. Something happened while you were gone. Call me!
#2
I realize that last one might make you worry about me, I am fine. Just call me when you have a chance.
#3
Actually, maybe it would be better if you came over to my house. Just come over ASAP!
Something must really be bothering her. I guess she was going to tell me last night. It must be something she didn't want to Hayley to know. I checked the time; it was only 5 a.m. too early to go now. Tay was an early bird, but not that early. I decided I'd go at 7. I had 2 hours for my mind to over think what she wanted to talk about.
