I'll never forget the day,
I leapt through time,
Was it because of a sight or smell?
Or was it simply a sign?
That I'd grown too dark,
Or I'll lose something in the running.
From the young child I was,
To the woman I was becoming.
Was it a warning that my dreams,
Would never come true.
Or a hint that I would achieve
Something out of the blue.
Or was it a simple trick,
By the hands of a ticking clock.
To put some weight on my shoulders,
Of all the time I had lost.
To sadness and anger,
To pride and fear.
If I could tell myself then,
My future would be clear.
Or maybe it was to let me know,
That I'd be fine, years later.
That all of what I'm doing now,
Is worth the blood, sweat and tears.
I sit staring at the clock,
Wondering whether,
My story's end is coming near,
Or it's just the start of a new chapter.
