Unlike what you think,
Yes, my skin defines me.
It shows that I'm from a place,
Where the Sun didn't blush shyly.
I am proud of it, I guess.
But how does my pride matter?
It's you who decides,
If I'm the Queen or the Mad Hatter.
It's you who decides,
Whether I'm beautiful or not.
It's all up to you,
If I'm royalty or rot.
Nobody looks at me anymore.
They just look at my skirt.
If it's short and shows my thighs, I'm attention-craving.
But I'm way too modest, if it's long and closer to the Earth.
If I show my skin, it's provoking.
If I cover it, I'm not proud of my body.
If I don't like dresses, I'm a disgrace to being a lady.
But if I wear make-up: "You're too fake, I'm sorry"
If I wear rich clothes, I'm a 'brand'.
If I wear cheap clothes, I'm cheap.
Now suddenly, it's my clothes that make me who I am.
Sorry, but, after saying all this, 'you' complain about society?
Society isn't a foreign body, it's where we live and dwell.
It's us who judge other people, and get judged ourselves.
Society isn't going to get fixed by talking on and on.
And you're one of the rods of this cage, making this place hell.
Don't get me wrong, I never said I was a saint.
We're all just long, iron rods- a part of a cage.
An empty cage, that holds itself captive.
And empty cage, built with bars of rage.
To free ourselves from ourselves.
We have to break us, not anyone else.
To be accepted and to accept others as well.
If you want change, look no further than yourself.
Look at you, you're something to be proud of!
Look at the others now, go look at them.
Obviously, they're not you, but
That doesn't mean you stop them from being proud of themselves.
Fix your anger, draw on a smile.
Let it brighten a lot of lives.
Look at everyone smile, they're beautiful too.
The happiness in our society should thrive.
