A match can start off a fire
Just like a cigarette, when lit by a lighter.
The heat sets your heart ablaze.
And the smoke reduces your vision to a haze.
Anger born from rumors spread
And the echoing whispers inside your head
Are carefully rubbing against your match
They patiently wait for you to snap.
Who knew you had other plans?
It wasn't long before you had to take a stand.
And that's when your match was lit.
That's when you were tired of everyone's shit.
A fire roared inside your mind.
Burning away all the sadness and bad times.
You chose to direct your fire now, to somewhere else.
Towards the people who dragged you into hell.
You watched them burn
Without a care or concern.
You watch them drown in the very flames
Whose birth was only theirs to blame.
Memories of your downfall, come back in flashes.
As you stare at these people, reduced to ashes.
You stared at them, not trying to hide your smirk
As the ashes rolled together, becoming one with the dirt.
This fire doused down, rather quickly.
And you hugged yourself, rather proudly.
Because you knew, if anyone else crossed the line
The fire would be back, and it would be stronger this time.
