Clear your mind.

Let it be clear like an empty canvas.

Blank, but there's so much room for more.

Visualize a paint brush, ready to paint.

A palette, with any and every color you may need.

And paint what I ask you to.

Paint your mother.

Paint every detail you can think of.

Let the colors paint a bright picture of a bright woman.

Pay close attention now.

Did you paint the soft wrinkles around her eyes?

Every time she looks at you and smiles?

Did you paint how her hair falls down her shoulders?

When she ties it up, unaware that she missed a lock.

Unaware, that you look up to her in these little ways as well.

Did you paint how her face creased in worry.

When you coughed rather abruptly,

And you brushed her off saying that it couldn't be too much.

Did you paint her expression?

When you ran towards the finish line.

Though you didn't win, she still cheered for you.

And if you did paint all this,

I'm in awe of you.

Your canvas must have been huge.

But no matter how far I extend my canvas,

It could never fit in.

The numerous things I noticed about my mother.

It seems beyond my mind to perceive something as such.

Something.... no someone,

Someone so simple, but beautiful in every way.

Someone, whose youth shone through her greying hair.

Someone, whose strength seeped through every wrinkled smile.

Someone, whose pain must be far greater than what we see.

Someone, who pulls me up when I go too low.

Someone, who uses the last of her needs to fuel me.

Someone, who asks for nothing in return, though she's the reason.

She's the reason I know what I know.

She's the reason I do what I do.

She's the reason, for all the light in my world.

She's the reason, I am able to stand

And it is only when I hold her hand,

I feel safe, and she's the reason.

And, the hurricane of colors on my canvas,

Would never be enough to express,

The beauty of the woman I call my mother.

And nothing in this vast world,

Would ever be enough to express,

The beauty; of the woman I call my mother.
