The investigation- a riverdale fan fic

Chapter 2

Cheryl watched her class mates slowly filter in to homeroom. She checked her texts to see if Toni had replied yet. Nothing. Hopefully their intimate chat the night before hadn't scared her off. Archie was talking to the other bulldogs.
"We need to get back at them. They can't just take our property!" He said.
"No one cares Arch." Cheryl yelled across the room. Veronica laughed.
"You should have seen them though Cheryl. I swore that the main one, Jughead I think... was gonna attack Archie." Veronica shook her head. "If Betty hadn't talked him out of it."
"Betty?" Cheryl paused. "As in Betty Cooper?" Veronica nodded.
"She's a serpent now. A big one. Honestly the only rational one threatened us."
"What did they look like?" Cheryl asked.
"Darker skin, long hair, no visible tattoo, pink tips," Veronica listed. Almost on command Cheryl's phone started to buzz.
"Take it in the hall, Ms. Blossom." Their teacher pointed to the door.
Cheryl hurried out and Veronica looked after her.
"Who is she always texting?" Reggie asked Archie. "Because if it's a guy I will be pissed." He continued.
"No idea, and even if it wasn't you are not allowed to date my sister." Archie replied. Reggie rolled his eyes but Veronica could tell Archie was serious. Whoever ended up with Cheryl would have to be majorly approved by both Archie and Jason. Veronica decided to get to the bottom of it and slipped into the hall.
"Toni, why didn't you tell me?" Cheryl looked annoyed. "I don't care if it wasn't you. Archie's my brother for crying out loud." She paused, listening to Toni on the other end. "I accept your apology... and maybe as a bigger apology I could come over tonight and we could..." Cheryl looked up to see Veronica in the doorway.
"I got to go. Call me later?" Cheryl ended the call.
"Are you..." Veronica paused.
"Can we talk about this at Pop's after school?" Cheryl asked. Veronica nodded and the two went back into class. Archie watched Veronica and Cheryl come back into the classroom. Before he could ask one of them about it, a voice came over the intercom. "Cheryl and Archie Blossom, Please come to the principal's office. Cheryl and Archie Blossom, Please come to the principal's office."
