Snow was always something Taekwoon loved. It reminded him of so many things. Tinsel, baubles and an Angel on the topmost of Evergreen trees.

Mostly, he loved the scent of fresh Gingerbread houses, slabs of freshly baked ginger bread coated with sugary icing and decorated with almost any sweet you could think of. It was the reason he adored his little bakery that was in his town.

The bakery's name was written in cursive, SugarCube Corner. It was cringe worthy but he didn't care. He loved his little bakery and that was that.

His treats were quite popular, especially with children. The Angel CupCakes and Sugar Tulips being an all time favorite.

Children adored the sweet marzipan Tulips that were colored green and petal pink using food coloring and then sprinkled with white sugar. They, as a joke, would gift them to one another on birthdays or any other special event.

The Angel CupCakes were another story. Those existed from the time Taekwoon's mother helped in the shop. Creating new recipes every day.

They were a simple vanilla cupcake with a swirl of honey in it. The icing was a light and fluffy vanilla with caramel mixed icing.

Every single recipe was carefully written down and kept in a baby blue recipe book. It was Taekwoon's treasure.

December was awfully cold. The frozen specks of water made Taekwoon sneeze unless he was bundled up warmly. He was headed to his Bakery to preheat the ovens and prepare for the day.

Upon reaching the bakery, he unlocked the doors and stepped in. Instantly, a rush of warm air washed over him, the scent of melted sugar and cinnamon filling his nose.

He pulled off his scarf and coat, setting them aside before grabbing his apron and tying it quickly. The doors will need to open soon.

As the day progressed, Taekwoon was finally able to get a break, the flow of customers slowing down. Today was really busy. Christmas always brought the most profit.

He was focusing on setting the caramel on top of the muffins correctly when something— or rather someone— caught his eye.

A pair of almond shaped eyes were staring into the cafe, brown hues reflecting all the colors in the cafe. They stared earnestly at the Sugar Tulips that were bunched together in little bouquets. Ebony colored hair fell across the eyes messily.

A child. A small child was watching the Sugar Tulips.

Taekwoon turned to stare at the child and when the child caught eyes with the baker, he squeaked in surprise and darted away.

Taekwoon's eyes gazed over the Sugar Tulips and then thought of the look of longing in the boy's eyes.

Thinking it over, he plucked a single flower from the bouquet and headed outside, his shoes crushing snow upon contact.

He found the child watching a group of older children play in the snow, eyes sullen and hopeful. His steps wobbled and he fell back on his bum, the snow softening his impact.

Taekwoon's expression softened and he strode over to the child. Wide doe like eyes stared back at him when he crouched in front of the child who had fallen onto the snow.
