27. Bab... Professor?

Juliet's POV:

     Nik and I were dressing for school. Today was our first defense against the dark arts class. The professor wasn't at the opening feast. Nobody will tell me who it is. " Nobody will tell me who the defense against the dark arts teacher is..." I say as I button my white shirt. "I don't have any idea who it is." Nik says shrugging. She looks a bit upset. " You ok?" I ask. She just shrugs again. I sigh. I just sling my tie around my neck because I don't feel like it. Nik picks up her bag and slings it on her shoulder. " Hey I know it's hard without Fred but hey we're in the same boat..." I say putting a hand on her shoulder. She clears her throat and then walks downstairs not saying anything. I sling my bag over my shoulder an walk downstairs. Oh if Umbridge could see me now. My shirt wasn't tucked in. It also wasn't buttoned all of the way up. My tie wasn't tied and I wasn't wearing my robes. We walk out of the common room. " I heard the new professor is hot..." Lavender says coming up next to me. I laugh. "Ew..." Nikki says walking ahead of us. I catch up to her. " Nik why are you so upset? Did I do something wrong?" I ask. "No..." She says not looking from the direction she's walking. " It sure seems like it..." I say. "It's not you..." She says shaking her head. " Then what is it? I'm your best friend... Please talk to me..." I say. "It's nothing. I'll be fine." She says walking into the classroom. 

   The professor had his back to us. He looked to be reading. Something was written on the board but he was blocking it. He looked really muscular. He looked awfully familiar. " Why does his back look so familiar?" I whisper to Nik. "I don't know. Why are you memorizing backs now?" She asks raising an eyebrow. " I don't know..." I say laughing lightly. She shakes her head. We both sit. I start looking in my bag for my supplies. "Okay guys! Let's get started!" The teacher called. The voice sounded familiar and comforting. My head snaps up and my eyes land on my boyfriend. My mouth drops. Nikki just kinda huffs quietly. "So to start we are going to be learning about the patronus charm. Everyone open their books to page one twenty eight." He says. I pull out my book and flip to the page. I was still in shock. "Okay so can anyone tell me the incantation for this charm?" He asks and Nikki's hand raises. I also raise my hand and Hermione's is up as well. "Ba..." He clears his throat. "Ms. Potter?" He waits for an answer. I see Nikki put her hand down and roll her eyes. I think he almost called me baby. " Expecto Patronum..." I answer. "Good. I'd like you guys to read the next chapter on the patronus charm by yourselves. Anything not finished is homework." He says and walks to his desk. I skim through the chapter because I know everything already. I keep glancing up at him throughout class. Why didn't he tell me? Nikki sighs as she looks over the chapter even though she already knows it. God he looked sexy in that suit. Nik's hand raises as she huffs annoyed like. "Yes Nikki?" Ced says looking up. "Just thought you should know this girl next to me won't stop talking." She says lowering her hands. "Uh... Juliet you are going to have to stop talking. That's a warning." He says returning to his papers on his desk. I didn't say anything! Nik was literally trying to get me in trouble. Nikki sighs and goes back to reading. My head goes back to Ced. That's why he got nervous when I called him professor the other day. That's when some other intrusive thoughts came into my head. More specifically my last night at home. "Sir!" Nikki's hand shoots in the air. "Yes Nikki?" Ced asks looking up. "She's still talking and I really need to get my work done." Nik says. Cedric sighs. "As much as I don't want to do this on the first day Juliet I let you off with a warning and you still didn't listen. I'm sorry but you have a detention. Tonight after dinner in this classroom." He says and then looks back down. Nikki goes back to reading. I shoot Nikki a look. I huff. That's when the bell rings for class to be over. I get up and put my things away not even looking at Nikki. Nikki puts her things away. "Have fun in detention." She mutters, slinging her bag over her shoulder and walking away. I glare at her as she walks away. I hang back as the students filed out of the room. I needed to talk to my boyfriend. He doesn't seem to notice as he works on some papers. I walk over to his desk. " Bab... Professor?" I ask. He looks up. "Yes Juliet?" He asks. That's when everyone is out of the room. " Why in the hell didn't you tell me?" I ask. "I wanted it to be a surprise." He says. I sigh. " You know I didn't say a single word to Nik... She was in my head..." I say. "Listen Juliet. I don't know what happened. I don't want to but I am still giving you a detention. I'm sorry." He sighs. I nod. I can take advantage of this detention. I smirk. " See you tonight..." I say and then turn to leave. "Yeah..." He says returning to his papers. I bite my lip. I wish I could stay but I have McGonagall next. " I need a pass..." I say. He grabs a piece of paper and dips his quill in ink then writes me a pass handing it to me smiling slightly. " Thank you..." I say and then bite my lip to conceal my smile. Ced looks like he tenses slightly. "Of course." He says nodding. " Bye..." I say. I start to walk out making sure to sway my hips as I walk away. I see him grip onto his desk as I walk out the door. I smirk to myself. I walk to McGonagall's classroom. 

   " Sorry I'm late..." I say walking to her. I hand her my pass. She looks at the pass and nods. I go and take my usual seat next to Nik. I don't speak to her. I get out my book and wand. Nikki doesn't look up as she writes notes while looking at her book. She looks up and sets her wand by her book. I open my book as I wait for McGonagall to start.

Time skip...

   I was in the common room waiting for dinner. I hadn't spoken to Nik all day. I can't believe she tried to get me in trouble. Nik is in the corner reading a book for potions class. I look at the clock and see it's time for dinner. I toss my book on the table and stand. I go upstairs quickly and change into a black casual dress. I head back downstairs and start to walk towards the portrait hole. I hear Nikki's book shut and she puts it in her bag then walks upstairs. I walk out of the portrait hole. I walk to dinner and sit next to Harry. "Hey Juliet. You going to be at Quidditch practice?" Harry asks. Nikki walks in the great hall and sits about ten feet from me at the table. " No I have detention..." I say. "Why?" Harry asks. " I was ' Talking'..." I say using air quotes. "What do you mean 'talking'?" Ron asks. " I wasn't even talking... Nikki got me in trouble for no reason... She's just mad..." I huff out. " I remember..." Hermione says. I nod. "What professor?" The boys asks. " Diggory..." Hermione answers for me. "Why is Nikki mad?" Harry asks. " Because she doesn't have Fred..." I say huffing. "Maybe I can talk to her." He says looking over at Nikki who is reading as she eats. " Maybe..." I say. Then I look at the clock. " I better get going..." I say getting up. "Bye." All three of them say. I walk from the great hall to my detention.
