24. Demon Baby

Nikki's POV:
I wake up slowly and open my eyes. I look up to see Fred fast asleep. I carefully get out of his grasp trying not to wake him. I pull on a shirt and some shorts and walk out and into the bathroom still half asleep. I turn on the lights and walk past a mirror. I freeze in place and slowly walk back to the mirror. I look at it and see my stomach sticking from my shirt. That's not normal. I slowly lift up my shirt to see a bump. My eyes widen. I hear what I think is our bedroom door open.

"Uh... Fred! If that's you can you come in here!" I call.

" Yeah!" I hear him call. He walks in. " What's up?" He asks. I turn around.

"Did I have this much stomach last night?" I ask with fear in my eyes. His eyes widen.

"No..." He answers.

"Oh no..." I mumble. He comes and wraps his arms around me.

" Hey it's going to be ok... We'll figure it out..." He says.

"How? I haven't been able to find anything yet and I've got probably about twelve days left or around that. It only lasts two week." I say the fear laced in my voice.

" We still haven't looked at the burrow... Mum said you can go get your stuff so you can look then..." He says cupping my face. That's when there's a knock on the front door.

"Who's that?" I ask.

" Don't know... I'll go check..." Fred says. He leaves. I hear some talking and then I hear them coming this way. Juliet comes into the bathroom.

" Hey Nik..." She says.

"Hi." I say and quickly wrap my arms around my stomach to try and cover the bump.

" Can I talk to you... Alone..." She says looking at Fred.

"Uh... Sure... I guess." I say. You could still tell there was some fear in my voice as my hands start to shake from the fear. Fred leaves. That's when a tear runs down her face.

"What is it?" I ask.

" It happened again..." She says.

"What? What happened again?" I ask confused.

" I was pregnant... I lost it... I didn't tell Ced because I didn't want to get his hopes up..." She says breaking down.

"What do you mean it happened again? How did it happen again?" I ask still confused. I feel movement in my stomach and clutch onto the sides of my shirt.

" I found out I was pregnant after Sirius died... Then last night Ced was out and I started bleeding..." She says.

"I'm so sorry. Listen just calm down and breath. Deep breaths." I say. I would hug but she would notice the bump.

" I don't know how to tell Ced..." She says.

"I... I don't know." I say as I feel more movement in my stomach and I bite my lip. She raises an eyebrow. That's when her eyes widen. She went in my head.

" Oh Nikki..." She says. She wraps her arms around me. I slowly let my stomach go and wrap my arms around her. " I'm sorry I just walked in and dumped my crap on you when you have enough going on..." She says.

"It's fine. You needed to talk to someone." I say I feel a hard kick and I jump slightly and make a pained gasp.

" Nikki?" Jay asks panic lacing her voice.

"This... Thing... It's stronger then I am. It kicked. Pretty hard too." I say pulling away. "We have to get this thing out of me as soon as possible." I say panicking as realization hits me. "Juliet this is more dangerous then I thought." I say.
