34. Love Potion

Nikki's POV:
I walk down the hallway with Jay to potions class.

" I can't believe McGonagall is making us take potions again even though we already took the course..." Juliet complains.

"Well we're taking it so get over it." I say shrugging. She giggles. We walk in and Professor Slughorn looks up.

" Welcome ladies come in!" He says. We walk in and sit next to eachother. " Ok today we are learning about the amortia potion which is the strongest love potion in the world... The smell of it is what you love most... Ms. Potter why don't you come and tell us what you smell..." Professor Slughorn says. Jay gets up nervously. She walks over and takes a sniff.

" Um well... Mahogany... Cinnamon... Colone... Fresh dirt and fresh parchment..." She says. Everything Cedric. Except cinnamon. That's when Ced walks in.

" Professor Diggory..." Sluhorn says. Ced walks past me and thats when I catch it. The faint scent of cinnamon. Ced was talking to Slughorn and Slughorn had a look of confusion. I think he could smell what Jay did. Ced leaves and Juliet sits next to me blushing madly. I look at her trying not to laugh.

" Shut it..." She mumbles.

" Ms. Potter I would like to see you after class..." Professor Slughorn says. She groans.

" I'm dead..." She mumbles.

"Oh jeez..." I say giggling.

" Shut up I'm probably in trouble..." Juliet says.

"What did you do that could have gotten you in trouble?" I ask.

" Nikki... Ced smells like everything I described... He walked in... I think Professor Slughorn knows..." She whispers.

"But everyone at this school knows you two were dating even before he became a teacher." I say.

" They don't know we still are dating... And Slughorn is new... He doesn't..." She whispers.

"I don't know what to say anymore..." I say shaking my head.

" Ms. Farron since you seem to like talking why don't you come tell us what you smell..." Slughorn says. My eyes widen.

"Uh... Okay..." I say and slowly get up. I walk over and sniff. It's a scent all too familiar.

"Burning fire wood... Fresh fruit... Grasses... And a hint of peppermint..." I say and step back.

" Thank you..." He says. I sit back down and class soon ends.

" Ms. Potter will you come here?" Slughorn asks.

" Wish me luck..." She says and walks to Slughorns desk. I wait outside the classroom for her.

Juliet's POV:
I walk up to Slughorns desk. " Yes professor?" I ask. "Ms. Potter you know that having a relationship with a teacher is against the rules right?" He asks. " What?" I ask acting like I don't know what he's talking about. "Your relationship with professor Diggory. It is completely breaking the rules." He says. I bite my lip. " I don't know what you're talking about..." I lie. "I think you do..." He says folding his hands on his desk. " Professor Slughorn you don't understand..." I say. "What don't I understand? Please explain..." He says waiting. " I was dating him three years before he became a professor... I love him..." I say. "Well then you must keep relationships and school separate from each other. As long as you don't fail any classes because of him I'll let you off with a detention." He says. I sigh. " Thank you..." I say. "I won't be available so I'll have to find a teacher that'll watch you tomorrow evening. I'll tell you as soon as I know." He says. I nod. I walk out. I run past Nikki. Ced had a free period right now so I ran to his ckassroom. I walk in the door. He was looking over some papers. " You have the best timing..." I say slightly annoyed as I walk to his desk. "What?" He asks. " Slughorn knows..." I say putting my hands on his desk. "About what?" He asks confused. " Us..." I say looking into his eyes. "How?" He asks. " We were doing love potions and I told him how it smells. Then you walked in..." I say. "Oh... I'm sorry..." He says looking down at his papers. " We're lucky he let me explain... I got off with detention..." I say. "Sorry..." He says again. I sigh. " I'm just glad you didn't get in trouble..." I say. "It'll be okay." He says. I actually had a free period so I sit in his desk. I put my face in my hands. "So..." He says going back to his papers. I don't say anything. A tear slips down my face. I could have gotten him fired. He stands up and bends down wrapping his arms around me. "It'll be okay..." He says. I wrap my arms around him. " I could've gotten you fired Ced..." I say shaking my head. "But you didn't. We're okay." He says rubbing my back. I look into his eyes. I cup his cheek. " I love you..." I say. "I love you too." He says softly. It probably wasn't the best timing considering what happened but I smashed my lips to his. I pull him closer so he's between my legs. He kisses back lovingly. I move my habds into his hair as I slide my tongue into his mouth. He pulls away. "I don't think now is the time. We just got caught and we won't be able to finish before the period ends." He says sighing. I sigh. I stand up. " I'm gonna go..." I say glumly. "I'm sorry..." He apologizes sadly. I look at him. " Will you stop apologizing!" I snap. That's all he's done since Christmas. He jumps back slightly. He looks at me sadly. I pinch the bridge of my nose. I can't believe I snapped. " I'm sorry..." I say. "It's fine... I need to get back to work..." He says and turns walking to his desk. " Bye..." I say my voice cracking. I walk towards the door tears streaming down my face. "Bye..." I hear him say glumly. I run from the room and to the Gryffindor common room. I sit and cry on the couch pulling my knees to my chest. Nikki walks in. "Jay what's wrong?" She asks rushing to my side. " I yelled at him..." I say my voice cracking. "What do you mean?" She asks wrapping a comforting arm around me. I lean into her. " He was apologizing and I snapped... He's been doing nothing but apologizing since he hurt me on Christmas..." I say and press on my bandage that was on my cut from the cuffs. She seems to take notice to this. "What happened to your wrist?" She asks. " Handcuffs..." I answer. "When did you get handcuffs?" She asks. " When we went shopping..." I say. The bell rings. " We have to go to defense against the dark arts..." I say getting up. She nods and stands up. We walk to class. I keep my head down as I find my seat. Tears slip down my cheek as I look at my lap. Nikki wraps her arm around me again. "It'll all work out. You'll see." She whispers. I lean into her. Ced was facing the board and then turns around to start class.

Timeskip...
Class ends and Nik puts her supplies back in her bag. I quickly shove my stuff in my bag. I feel his eyes on me. I jump up and run out. I hear someone follow me but it's not Nik. I turn down an empty corridor. "Jay." Ced grabs my wrist turning me around. I look at him with tear filled eyes. " What?" I ask. "I know I should stop apologizing but I feel so bad and if your upset about snapping at me it's fine." He says. " It's just everything... I snapped at you... We barely get any time for just us... Sirius calling you dad..." I say running a hand through my hair. "I thought you liked that Sirius was calling me dad?" He asks confused. I sigh. " It's just with what has happened with us..." I say and my hand drifts to my stomach on instinct. "Hey it'll be okay. I've promised you we are going to be parents one day and I am going to keep that promise. Nikki has even told you it'll never happen again." He says looking in my eyes. " I know it's just strange hearing a baby call you dad or call me mom... It makes me miss our little kicker more..." I say. "I know it's hard. But it'll all be okay. It'll all work out." He says. I nod. " And I miss you... While at school I can't touch you... I can't let anyone know I love you... I can't even hug you outside of a locked door without raising suspicion..." I say sighing. "I know... It's hard for me too. But listen we have the rest of this year and next year and it's done. We don't have to worry about hiding it anymore. And if it makes you feel any better I was the only teacher who could watch you during your detention tomorrow." He says. I smirk and bite my lip. " Oh really?" I ask. He smirks back. "Yes. Now if you can get through the rest of the day and tomorrow we can be alone." He whispers. I smile and look around. No one normally came down this hall. I kiss him for a few seconds then pull away. He smiles. "Now go before were caught." He says. " Ok... I love you..." I whisper. "Love you too..." He whispers. I smile. " See you tomorrow..." I say. "See you..." He says. Walk away smiling to myself. Detention was going to be fun.

Time skip...
I was sitting in the common room when Nikki comes in. "So did you get detention?" She asks sitting next to me setting her bag in her lap. " Yup..." I say. "Why do you seem so happy about it?" She asks raising an eyebrow. " My detention isn't with Slughorn..." I say. "Who's it with then?" She asks confused. " Ced..." I say smirking. "Oh... Ced is letting me skip his class the week of my birthday. The whole week." She says. " Nice... Will you help me get ready?" I ask. "Help you get ready for what?" She asks confused. " Just come on..." I say and drag her upstairs. I grab them out of my closet. " I was thinking this one..." I say holding it up.

"What are you doing?" She asks sitting on her bed. " Getting ready..." I say. I pull out the cuffs and the flog. Nikki's eyes widen. "What... Why do I need to help you?" She asks. " I need you to tell me which one to wear..." I say sreading out my lingerie. "What ever one you want." She says getting up. " Ok..." I say. I change quickly into it. I pull on my school robes and hide the cuffs and flog in my robe. " I'm off..." I say. "Bye..." She says sounding annoyed. I shrug and head out.
