42. Appointment

Juliet's POV:
I wake up when the front door opens. I look behind me to see a very worried Nik. "Are you okay?" She asks sitting down next to me. " He's gone..." I say quietly. "He'll come back. He always does." She says. I look at her. " What if he doesn't this time... I should've kept my damn mouth shut..." I say my voice cracking. "Shh... I know he'll come back... He would never leave you forever..." She says wrapping an arm my shoulders. I snuggle into her. " I'm sorry..." I say. "He made a promise. To take care of you and the baby. He'll come back. I know he will." She says rubbing my arm. I nod. " I have my appointment..." I say realization hitting me. "Like I said he'll come back. And if he doesn't by then I will stand by you until he does." She says. I nod. " What time is it?" I ask. "Nine in the morning." She says. My eyes widen. " My appointment is at nine ten..." I say getting up. I rush into the house and up the stairs. I pull on the first outfit I see.

I walk downstairs to find Nik waiting. " Let's go..." I say. She nods and walks with me. We walk into the office and I walk to the desk. The lady looks up. " Name?" She asks. " Juliet Potter..." I answer. " Ok the doctor is a little behind so if you would sit and wait she will get to you as soon as she can..." She says. I nod and then go to sit. I bite my lip and fiddle with my fingers. I wish Ced was here. Nikki wraps her arm around me to help comfort me. I give her a small appreciative smile. " Thanks for coming..." I say. "Of course... We're like sisters remember." She says with a small smile. I smile at her. I was so thankful for her but what I needed was Ced right now. I lean my head against her shoulder and close my eyes. She rests her head on mine. " Juliet Potter?" I hear called. I get up. " That would be me..." I say. The doctor smiles at me. " Come on back..." She says. I walk back following her. Nik trails behind. " Go ahead and lay down..." The doctor says. I do as told. " Who'd you bring with you today?" She asks. " My sister..." I say smiling at Nik. " How far along do you think you are?" She asks. " I believe about three months..." I answer. She nods. She lifts my shirt and puts the gel on my stomach. " Is this your first ultra sound?" She asks. " Yes..." I say. She nods Nd puts the wand on my stomach. " Well I'd say your about fifteen weeks... I may be able to tell you the sex today..." She says. I nod. " Do want to know now or do you want it in an envelope?" She asks. " Envelope..." I say. She nods. I see my baby on the monitor. I smile lightly. " Ok well I'm going to go get that for you..." She says. She puts the wand down and leaves the room. " I'm assuming you want to do a party?" I ask Nik laughing. "Whatever you want." She says raising her hands while laughing lightly. I giggle. The doctor comes back in with the envelope. " Give it to her..." I say laughing. She hands it to Nik. " Well everything looks good... The baby is healthy... I would like to see you in about three months..." She says. I smile. " Ok... Thank you..." I say. She nods. Nik and I leave. We were walking home. I wanted to know but I didn't. I was going to let Nik do her thing. "It's too quiet..." Nik says giggling. I giggle lightly. We walk into the house. Mr. Diggory was coming out of the kitchen. " Did he come home yet?" I ask. "He's upstairs... He's been beating himself up." Mr. Diggory sighs. I run up the stairs. I run into our room. " Ced..." I say. He looks like he's been crying as he stares at the ground from where he's sitting on the bed. I rush to him. I get on my knees on the ground in front of him. I cup his face. I was crying tears of joy. " You came home..." I say stroking his face with my thumbs. He looks like he's going to cry again. "I hurt you..." He whispers. I shake my head. " You didn't hurt me... I'm perfectly fine... The only thing that hurts is my back from sleeping on the front steps waiting for you to come home..." I say. "You waited for me? Even after I almost killed Nik and pushed you?" He asks. " Of course I did... I love you..." I say softly. "I love you too..." He whispers. I put my forehead to his. " We're having a party later..." I say softly. "For what?" He asks confused. " Nik has the envelope..." I say. He'll probably be super confused. "Envelope?" He asks. " The gender..." I say putting a hand on my stomach. His eyes go wide. "Oh my God. I missed it..." He mumbles. I sigh. " It's alright... That's why I didn't want to know because you weren't there..." I say softly. He nods. "I'm so sorry..." He says cupping my face. " It's ok... I'm just glad you're home..." I say leaning into his touch. He nods and pecks my lips. I smile at him. I put my forehead to his. "I love you..." He says softly. " I love you too..." I respond softly. He rubs my cheek with his thumb. I press my lips to his softly. He kisses back. "Hey get back here!" I hear Nikki yell. "Get back here! Fredric Weasley! Stop it!" She yells. I groan as I pull away. " Do they always have to do that?" I ask getting up. "Their Fred and Nikki. What do you expect?" He asks chuckling. "Give it back!" Nik yells. We walk out of the room. " What's going on?" I ask. "He took my hairbrush and messed up my hair. Fred stop it!" She yells at him. Her hair was a complete mess. It was everywhere. he shuts the door to their bedroom and Nik bangs on it with her fist. "Stop!" She whines. I walk into the room and grab my brush. " Nik chill..." I say handing my brush to her. "I don't share hairbrushes... With anyone..." She says. Is she seriously going to be a germ freak right now? " Well then your stuck like that..." I say waving the brush. "Nikki stopped sharing hairbrushes after I got lice as a kid. Even after it was cleared up for good." Claire says as she walks by. Nikki pounds on the door again. "Fred! Come on!" She yells. I giggle. That's when I feel a kick. I wasn't expecting it so I drop the brush. " Woah..." I say. Nikki freezes and looks at me worriedly. My hand moves to my stomach as I feel another kick. Nikki sees what I'm doing and smiles. I grab Ced's hand. I place it on my stomach. There's another kick. I giggle. His face lights up and he laughs. I smile at him. " It's a kicker..." I say laughing. Right on cue there's another kick. "That's our baby." He says smiling brightly. " Yup..." I say. I put my hand on his. " Nik I'm excited to see what you have planned later..." I say. "Well I can't plan anything till I fix my hair!" Nik says banging on the door again. We all laugh.
