I stood, looking in the full-length mirror. I reached up and tightened my auburn high ponytail. I saw a sales rep come up behind me in the mirror.
"That dress looks very nice on you." She said with a smile. She looked to be about seventeen.
"It does doesn't it." I looked at the black and white checkered dress, it came down to my mid thigh and the matching white boots, came almost came up to my knee. "I'm going to the decade dance, tell me, does this say, sixties?" I asked though I knew the answer I wanted to hear it from someone else.
"I guess. I really don't know the sixties all that well." She gave a small smile. "Is there anything else you need?" I shook my head.
"Nope, this is all." I turned to face her. "You are buying this dress and the boots for me." I compelled her.
"Hey, I'll buy this for you." She gestured to the outfit.
"Are you sure?" I faked a smile.
"Yeah, you go ahead to the dance." She nodded, walking over to the register.
"Thanks! I'll see you there right?" I asked, following her over.
"No, I have to work." I tsked.
"That sucks, well have a nice night," I said after removing the tags. I left the store and got in my car. Tonight would be fun, but only if I don't run into Klaus.
When I pulled up to the school it was already almost dark. I got out of my car and headed in. I was looking at the walls when I heard Damon behind me.
"Try not to cause any trouble tonight." He said walking up to me.
"Whatever dick, I'm here to have fun." I walked into the gym and headed to the concessions stand. While pouring myself a drink someone came up behind me.
"Hello, dear Cleona." I tensed, even without an accent, there is only one other person besides Elijah and my brothers that would call me that. I tried to seem calm.
"I'm sorry, I think you have the wrong person. My name is Cleo, Mr. Saltzman." I shrugged and began to walk away.
"Really. So you aren't Cleona Mikaelson?" I stopped in my tracks and turned to face him. He just gave a smirk. I walked up to him, close enough that no one would hear me talking.
"I have not gone by the name Mikaelson in a long time. I am a Salvatore, no matter who I married." I said, then backed up and took a sip of my drink.
"Of course love, but don't forget who took you in when you had to run from your father." I closed my eyes and let out a small laugh.
"No of course not, Elijah is still one of my dearest friends. I am forever in his debt for taking me in." I finished my drink and set it down. "Now if you'll excuse me I must go find my brothers before they do something stupid." I waved at him before turning and walking away. Letting my hips sway confidently as I knew he was watching.
I found the table where Elena was standing, I looked for Stefan or Damon, but only found Caroline and another girl.
"Hello Elena, Caroline," I looked at the girl waiting for a name.
"Bonnie, Bonnie Bennett." She replied. "And you are?"
"Cleona, Cleona Salvatore. Cleo for short." I gave a brief smile before turning to Elena. "I know you're on the lookout for Klaus." She looked shocked but nodded. "He's here."
"Wait, Klaus is here?" Bonnie asked looking around. "How do you know?"
"It's a long story. He's not going to hurt you here, just, don't let my brothers do something stupid and end up dead, alright?" Elena nodded again.
"Wait, you're a Salvatore?" Caroline asked, speaking for the first time since I got over here.
"Yes, I'm Stefan and Damon's sister." I rolled my eyes.
"Younger or older?" She asked.
"Both, why are you so nosy?" I asked.
"How both?" She ignored my question.
"I'm older than Stefan but younger than Damon. It's really simple. Are we done now?" She nodded and I let out a sigh. "Elena, might I ask you a question?" I looked at her as calm as I could.
"Um, sure, what's up?" She asked.
"Why is Elijah daggered in the cellar of the boarding house?" Agitation shone through in my voice.
"The question should be why do you think he shouldn't be." Stefan came up behind Elena.
"Because I actually know Elijah, and he's not as bad as you might think." I turned on my heels and headed out of the gym. I heard footsteps behind me and I turned to see Klaus, or Alaric, following me. "Please just leave me alone Klaus. I'm not in the mood to fight anymore." Tears were threatening to fall yet again but I took a deep breath determined not to let Klaus see me cry.
"Love, are you ok?" His voice was gentle, like when I had first met him.
"I'm fine Klaus." I lied. He came closer and placed his hand on my cheek, at first I leaned into his touch but after a moment I pulled away. "I said I'm fine Nik, I just really want to go home."
"Talk to me, Angel." He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his chest. I felt the tears start falling as I let him hug me. "It's ok, I'm here." He put his hand on my hair as I cried into his chest. We stood there for a few minutes, he just comforted me as I cried. After I had settled down a little, he loosened his embrace and I stepped back, wiping the wetness from my face. I mouthed a thank you and sped off to my car, heading back the motel and crashing on my bed.
That's chapter 4! I hope you are enjoying the story I'm putting a lot into this. I've only been writing this for about a month or so (depending on when I post this) and I've already gotten 4 chapters done. The only other story that I have written at the same pace was Happy Rucas Holidays, and I've come a long way in my writing since then. Anyways, please let me know what you think of the story and if you have any story suggestions let me know and I'll do my best to respond in a timely matter <3 ~KJ
