"Nik," I complained, "why don't we go to the festival?" I playfully tugged on his arm.

"We shall in a minute, Love." He turned me around so I was in front of him and he had placed his arms around my waist. I looked up at him after wrapping my arms around his neck, it almost looked as though we were dancing.

"It's almost dark, I want to go before the music stops," I whispered, smiling up at him.

"You know I can always compel more music, Love. There's no rush." He kissed my nose and smiled.

"That ruins the fun Nik. I want the noise of the other couples laughing, while we laugh and dance with them. I wish to enjoy the festival as it's meant. Please, Nik? Just for tonight." I explained, my eyes dropping to look at his chest as I talk, only looking up to meet his once again as I wait for his answer.

"Very well then my dear." He spun me and took my hand before we left the bedroom.

As we walked the streets of New Orleans, I heard the music, the people laughing. I noticed Nik looking over at me several times, as I soaked in the scene. It was not my first time out on the streets of New Orleans, but it was my first time with my husband. We had gotten married two days ago, and Nik had insisted that we stay in out of fear for my safety. I stopped when we reached a bar that was playing music that spilled out into the streets. Nik had noticed that I stopped and followed me into the crowded building. I found a table towards the front where the makeshift stage was and sat down, Nik joining me.

"Nik," he hummed a response, "isn't this nice? Just the two of us, enjoying the music." I closed my eyes and soaked it in for a second until I heard him chuckle a little.

"Yes, my angel, it is indeed." He reached for my hand and rubbed the back of it in small circles. "Do you want me to get you a drink?" I nodded slightly and smiled. He stood and walked to the bar in the back of the room. I leaned my arms on the table, resting my head in my hands and letting my eyes follow my husband.

"Hello, gorgeous." I heard from behind me. I turned around to see a tall slender man standing only a few feet away. I opened my mouth to reply but then turned my eyesight back to my husband who was heading back to the table with our drinks. "Do you plan on ignoring me?" The man asked, anger lacing his voice as he placed a firm hand on my shoulder. I squirmed under the touch.

"I highly suggest you take your hand off my wife," Nik stated, he glared at the man and if looks could kill, his would. I sighed in relief when the man took his hand off my shoulder and closed my eyes knowing Nik would handle it.

"I apologize, I did not know." The man replied backing away, I could hear traces of sarcasm in his apology.

"No you just saw her as a common-" I stopped him.

"Nik, please," I whispered quietly to him as I reached for his arm. "Maybe we should just go home."

"Love, you wanted to enjoy the festival." He leaned over towards me.

"Well, I don't want to be the cause of a scene." I looked up at him.

"Very well." He turned back to the man. "Leave, and forget you saw us." He smiled softly at me as he sat back down in his seat. "Let us enjoy the music, shall we?" My smile grew wide as he slid me my drink.

We sat and enjoyed our drinks and the music. At one point we got up to dance but that didn't last long as Nik got fed up with the people bumping into us on the crowded dance floor. Eventually, we decided to go home and sleep the rest of the night away, I felt safe wrapped in his embrace

I'm sorry it took so long to upload, the last few weeks of school are hectic with all of the orchestra management I have to do before the party. But after today there will be only 4 days left of school and I'll try to upload more, but I plan on getting a summer job so we'll see.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter. ~KJ
