"Good morning, darling," I spoke softly as I looked at Nik who had just woken up.

"You seem to be in a good mood, should I be worried?" I scoffed and hit his arm playfully. I went to get up but he caught my wrist, pulling me back into his chest and wrapping his arms around my waist. "I'm only teasing," his words were muffled as he kissed the side of my head. Once again a peaceful morning was ruined as Bex stormed into the room.

"Great, our mother is out to kill us, and you two are canoodling." She sighed, leaning her head on the doorframe.

"What is it now, Rebekah?" Nik's voice was laced with annoyance and I couldn't help but smile as I listened to the conversation.

"I need Cleo." I held in a laugh and shook my head. "I think we've earned a spree day, after all that's happened." I felt Nik's grasp around me tighten.

"Well, she's quite occupied at the moment. I'm afraid you'll have to wait." I saw Rebekah's face drop and she looked as if she were about to say something we'd all regret, so I stepped up.

"Bex, give me fifteen and we'll go shopping." I suggested, Bekah's face brightening a bit before she turned on her heels and walked back out. "Why must you make things so difficult?" I laid my arms over his and let out a sigh. He let out a chuckle against my hair.

"It's more fun that way." I shook my head and kissed his cheek.

"It may be, but it doesn't help the situation, my love." I broke free of his warm embrace and made my way over to the closet, sifting through my clothes. I changed into a plain grey halter top and a pair of black ripped skinny jeans as well as black suede heeled ankle boots before stepping back out into the room and to the vanity. Opting for a very simple smokey eye with golden brown eyeshadow shading the outer corner and a shimmery white color on the inner eye paired with a fuchsia pink lipstick.

I stood, glancing over my outfit in the full length mirror and pulled my dark curls up into a ponytail. Before I could tie up my hair, my attention was diverted by Nik who had appeared behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his chin on my shoulder in the little triangle created by my arm.

"Can I help you?" I asked, letting my hair drop and my hands laying over his.

"Just admiring," he turned his head to kiss my neck effectively causing me to squirm and laugh.

"You are something else," I turned around to face him and rested my arms behind his neck as he simply hummed in response. "You better behave while I'm out with Bekah.

"Oh, of course." He feigned insult. "When have I ever not behaved." I rolled my eyes, happy to see him in such a good mood this morning.

"I'll try and not stay out too long, who knows what trouble you boys will come up with while we're out." I pecked his cheek before pulling back and tying my hair up into a ponytail.

"Just enjoy your day," he kissed the side of my head before I left to meet up with Bex in the living room.

"Don't go causing trouble," Kol teased as he came up behind me and slung an arm over my shoulder. I rolled my eyes as I turned to look up at him.

"I should be the one telling you that." I poked his cheek and shrugged his arm off my shoulder. "You wouldn't be planning anything right?"

"That depends, what would you qualify as planning?" He laid back onto the couch, a large exhale escaping. I sent a short glare towards him which made him hold his hands up in surrender.

"Best behavior, I mean it." I said pointing a finger at him playfully.

"Yes, mom." He teased.

"Well someone has to keep the Mikaelsons in order." I turned to see Elijah standing in the door.

"See Elijah gets it." I stepped over to him. "I'm going out with Rebekah, so, you and your brothers keep out of trouble, and you or Nik needs to text me if that one," I pointed at Kol, "starts any trouble." Before Kol could protest Elijah nodded. "At least one of you is mature." I looked back at Kol and stuck my tongue out.

He placed a hand to his chest as though he were offended. "I am mature, thank you." He smirked and shut his mouth shortly before I felt arms around my waist.

"I thought you were going out with Rebekah," Nik whispered in my ear. "What are you doing teasing Kol?"

"I was just warning him to behave while I'm out. You Mikaelson boys can't be trusted without supervision." I replied defiantly. "Luckily your elder brother can keep an eye on you while I'm out." I pulled his arms around my waist. "I'm just waiting for Bex to be ready to-" Rebekah walked into the room, cutting off my sentence. "Ok, you three, behave. We'll be back in a few hours." I looked at Elijah, "call me if they do something stupid."

With that we left, hanging onto each other as we laughed. "You really are a fiesty one aren't you." Bex chuckled, I shugged and laughed.

"Sometimes your brothers just need a firm hand to guide them. Your mother truly failed at that," I pulled us to a stop and set a hand on her cheek. "You all deserved better than what your parents gave. I just hope to ease your existence and give you all a reason to smile." I pulled her into a hug, more to hide my own tears than to ease hers.

"How did we get lucky enough to pull you into our messed up family?" She smiled, pulling back and linking our arms again. "Nik really out did himself if he was able-"

"I love Nik dearly, I'm just as lucky they found me, and I'm so grateful that I was welcomed into your family with open arms. But that was many decades ago, let's shop till we drop." I swayed into her shoulder and chuckled.
